computer problems/privacy

I'm new to this so if I ask inappropriate questions or make inappropriate remarks I would hope that I will be chastised (in a friendly manner of course).

Having said that, I reside in the "Hill Country" of central Texas about 45 min from Austin. My issue is that I need to talk to someone or leave my computer to be worked on with someone who is not going to look at what is on my computer and be too judgmental about some of my treasured videos.

Is it all right to ask if there is anyone out there who would be able to point me in the right direction?

Try investing in a portable hard drive. They're quite cheap and you can put all your vids and music on there.

I also suggest a portable hard drive. They are cheap and removing that stuff from your main drive on your computer will help speed it up.

Agreed. The best idea is an external drive. I keep all my music, vids and writing on there. Of course I work on my own computers as well, but a back uo drive is always a good thing to have. Nothing worse than having a HD failure with all your "motivational" material on there!

External drives are very handy, i have many times found mine very helpful tranfering files i have to someone else or theirs to mine..

Also they just unplug and can be put away when there is someone that could be inclined to be a little nosey around ... they sure are money well invested.

I backup so much stuff on external drives... I have 3 running at all times.. most with the same content... I am freaked out they will fail... so i keep 2 running all the time backing up and another I plug in only when I need it so if a virus or bolt of lightning comes crashing down.


So back up your computer.. then delete or make folders that you want to keep hidden password protected. You can delete the following: Browsing history, internet cache and download history. then delete all your recent history under windows if you have downloaded xxx videos or whatnot...

Gawd. How embarrassing! LOL When you went to pick it up did the clerk send out a text alert to all the staff? So they could come and stare at you as you walked out the door? LMAO
