Well Jon, it's all out there in "public" view, so I'll tell you as much as I know. If you follow
Cage Kafig on Facebook and have seen him on YouTube, you could get it in his own words; anyway...
Cage Kafig was a big hit on
Broke Straight Boys and everything was going great, then he "celebrated" a bit too much with the guys (and girls) and went home to his girlfriend, and mother of his child, with his tail between his legs. They were working things out, but he said moneywise, " people have so much money and work to offer... But when it all comes down to it... It is false! This is my career..(direct from his Facebook page).
Cage Kafig then, for the next month, talked about "other opportunities" and added himself to a "new modeling agency." Apparently, at
Broke Straight Boys, he was asked to take a severe pay cut and it was brought up that he had a criminal history. From here, it went downhill quickly; he seemed to have problems with his girlfriend, who I think he married and
Broke Straight Boys He started to post very negative things about
Broke Straight Boys on his Facebook. He also tried, at this time, to win back his wife by singing songs and sharing his feelings on YouTube. After about a month of that, he dropped off Facebook and YouTube. As of May 23, he started posting on Facebook the quote that started this thread. That's what I know...

Thanks for the back-story, Beth. I was totally clueless as to what this was all about.
I kind of agree with Jon, to some extent. . .
Cage Kafig is goodlooking, and I enjoyed his performances. He would certainly not be the first gay, straight, or bisexual erotic video star with a wife and kids. . . two of my favourites of all time, Chad Knight and Drew Andrews, were both bisexual guys, with wives and children. (I think Drew ultimately was divorced from his wife, but the last I heard, Chad wasn't.) And both, by all accounts, have been loving and caring Dads.

Drew gave an interview, which I recall, in which he recounted explaining to his teenaged daughter (in very gentle and vague terms) what he had done for a living, and she said, "Well, Dad, I don't care about that - - - I just wish you'd quit
smoking!!!" And Chad gave an interview in which he talked at some length (his children were much smaller) about how he would be ending his career in video, so as not to cause his children any worries.(Those interviews both were published in gay print magazines in the '90's, and if I can find them online, I will, for sure, add them to this thread.)
I am keenly sensitive to Jon's point in all this. . . but, I do hope that we might one day get to the point where, having been an erotic video-or Internet-star, is no longer considered some kind of horrible embarrassment, but rather. . . just a part of life. Maybe that requires that we all think a little more like Swedes, or Frenchmen, but. . . I think that wouldn't be altogether a BAD thing. (And, I think we are perhaps slowly getting there.) Just because you were an erotic-video star, back in the day. . . it doesn't mean you can't be a good parent, corporate executive, or even a U.S. Senator, or Member of Parliament. (Senator Scott Brown was a famous naked pin-up model, back in the day ;-)

However, I do think Jon is spot-on, in this regard: it seems like poor
Cage Kafig has been kind of conflicted about this whole experience, and things have been rather rough, for him. IF you are a straight guy (married, with kids); and you want to do gay erotic video. . . well, then, it requires a lot of careful deliberation, and consensus and support, from one's spouse. It seems like
Cage Kafig perhaps didn't have that, and maybe wasn't sure, in his OWN mind, what he wanted to do. . . hence, the ensuing difficulties.
I hope
Cage Kafig gets it all worked out. I would love to see him back, if it is right for him. But if it isn't, I hope he is able to get on with life, and loving his family, and just BE HAPPY.
"A" XOXOXOXOXOXOXO
P.S. If it works, I'll post a couple of "DADS" who did great work in gay video, back in the gay '90's ;-)
