We had a great discussion on BSG before and now the series is over. What did we find out and what did we learn? For me:

I did not realize how much the series was influenced by 9/11.

It has all happened before and it will all happen again. True, but we can choose to break the cycle (think N. Ireland and the Middle East). We can give up who we are and become something greater. Although I am surprised that we are all human-cylon hybrids!

There are Angels, Kara, Number 6 and (of all people) Gaius Baltar. And we can see them!

God doesn't like it when we call him God. So says Angel Gaius to Angel 6. Now that leads to the question of who is he? I have a sneaky feeling that he is cylon 13 (actually number 7 or 8), Daniel. Now Daniel was a sensitive sort, who liked music. He was boxed (or so we are told). But it was music that led Kara to enter the coordinates of the planet (re)named Earth. So is God's name Daniel?

Hera was the mother of us all. We are all related, there is a connection between us. Isn't that a great way to live?

So my brothers and sisters, what do you think?

Your loving brother,

Jayce

Earth to marky, Earth to Marky Come in marky!

To show you guys where my mind isn't. I saw the "BSG, The finale" thread, and, until I saw the word cylon, was thinking, why are we gonna discuss Broke Straight Girls, again? LMAO! Damn, this senility thing is for the birds!

Now where's my cane and chair?

I am,

And I forgot one thing

One more thing we learned:

When Galactica was off to get the shit beaten out of her at the cylon colony, Adama relinquished command to....... Lt. Hoshi. Now if you saw the webisodes then you know that Hoshi was the lover of Felix Gaeta! And Adama's only comment was that Hoshi was the only one we trusted and was worthy of the command. I wish the had been more open on the series about his relationship with Gaeta, but I take heart in the fact that he was the second gay Admiral in the series (the other being Admiral Cain from BSG Razor).

Yours,

Jayce

P.S. To Rifle and Denver - Check out a younger Jamie Bamber in the Horatio Hornblower series with Ioan Gruffudd. You might want to take a gander at Sam (Michael Trucco) :thumbup1:

Ok folks, I think I am confused. When I first started reading this thread, I thought it was about Broke Straight Girls. But I guess I was wrong. So please correct me. Does BSG stand for Battle Star Galactica? As I have said in an earlier post, I never followed any of the Star Trek/ Star Wars or any of the other space shows.

Thanks In Advance, Gary

Battlestar Galactica

No prob Gary. Yes we are talking about Galactica and not Broke Str8 Girls. We have quite a few Sci Fi enthusiasts in the world of Forum. I probably should have spelled BSG out - I didn't really make the connection.....

Hope you are well.

I've been in love with this concept since Richard Hatch was Apollo and oh my God, denver, he was so hot, too!

You are so right. When this 15 year old closeted kid saw Dirk Benedict and Richard Hatch on TV together for the first time as Starbuck and Apollo... it was lust at first sight. Their onscreen chemistry just sizzzled! For pure looks Dirk Benedict won hands down in my book. But Richard Hatch was also incredibly hot. If they had even ever hugged on screen I might have passed out! LOL Most of my closeted gay fantasies centered around him (Hatch) because he had an endearing sensitive side to him. I think my latent gaydar sensed that I had a beter shot with him. Does anyone know if he plays on our team?

tucson-j, last night, while trying to get over an ordeal of trip over a mountain pass (see cold weather thread) I went on line on ebay and bid on a pair of Anders swimming trunks. If I win them, I'll soak them, wring them out and send you a cup for tea. I'm sure the flavor will be soothing!

Rifle - You are really sweet. I am certain Jayce will feel like he is drinking the nectar of the God's.:001_cool:

I'll sit out on the porch in the warm sun and think of you as I sip the essence of Anders (Trucco). I think that you are a dear for thinking of me. I always thought Sam was hot. I've enjoyed him on the show. But I have to admit that I have lusted after Jamie Bamber (Apollo) for quite some time now.

Thank you, Thank you!!!!

Your friend,

Tampa,

Your right on. The original, in my opinion was my favorite. And Apollo and Starbuck were very hot. Even though I am a Sci-Fi fan, I never got intop the new BSG (Gary, this is Battle Star, not Broke Straight). I did not like the fact that the Cylons now look human (I like old Red Eyes) and that Starbuck went from male to female. I do agree the effects are better now, but then they should be.

I didn't catch on to the new BSG either. I liked the pilot episode real well but later it lost my interest somewhere... That's not to say it's not a good show. I also missed the male Starbuck who was buddy buddy with Apollo. They decided to be daring and make Starbuck a woman. Then they masculinized her. They showed her beating up the bad guys, cursing like a sailor, smoking cigars, etc... For me it begged the question: If you're going to portray her as an attractive angry semi-bulldyke then why not go with a man in the first place? LOL I don't mean to annoy you fans of the show but that's some of what bothered me from the beginning.

Are you kidding? I wanted to do an Apollo and Starbuck sandwich. Considering I was in 5th grade at the time; I think I was hoping they could wait a few years for me to catch up.:thumbup1:

Remember Boxie?

Good ole Noah Hathaway (he turned out str8). He grew up and got married. He's a martial arts expert and taught dance before an injury. Here's a pic.

You aren't the only one brother. It was so hard to choose between them that I probably would not have wanted anything less than both of them at the same time. I also wouldn't have minded watching them go to town on each other either. LOL When the two of them were in a scene together I might have blinked about once per minute. :thumbup1:
