(Score before vote)(x) + (what you voted)= (score after vote)(x+1)

(Score before change)(x)+(change to score)=(score after change)(x)

Type equation into wolfram alpha and solve for x because I’m lazy, x is the number of votes before you voted… enjoy!

Haha took me a few attempts to figure it out again, I don’t do enough math at work.

Thanks for the formula GWTW, but math was always my poorest subject in school. My mother had to pay for a math tutor to get me through seventh grade algebra. It’s amazing that a large part of my regular working career involved buying, pricing and the like. But I always had a calculator and knew what numbers to multiply costs by to come up with a selling price.

What I am saying is that I am as clueless to your formula as I was to trying to figure out theorems and stuff. Hopefully others here will know how to use your guide to calculating votes and scores. I do appreciate your efforts though. :001_smile:

Math is a tool just like a pile of hammers, as long as you pull out the right hammer for the job it doesn’t matter if you have a big pile of them in your garage.

This more than a mere number it is a statistic that can be used and abused min how you use it or abuse it.

Statistics is a great tool, and a lot of tools can be used in various ways. Good and bad is a whole different discussion since those words can be subjective.

I don’t think enough people really appreciate statistics for what it is and just spit out numbers they read in an article. Quite often I will see stats used in a way that is clearly biased but there’s nothing I can do to stop them. There’s a fine line between marketing and telling a lie to people sometimes.

I fully agree. My undergraduate degree was in statistics.

It’s amazing how a scene can be #1 one day and fall to page 3 the very next. That’s probably just one person’s low score and how fewer votes affect the rankings. Sad.
Also, the Calhoun/James scene should be #1 now and for some reason is missing.

Broke Straight Boys History is a favorite subject of mine. On my iPad, Page 1 shows 20 scenes in the highest rated category. They are all close in ratings, I’m sure in many cases separated by decimal points. #1 is Ethan Steel & Calhoun at 4.76 from 2020. #20 is one of Jay’s fabulous complications, Best of Adam Baer Part 1 at 4.74, so all are very close.

The oldest scene in the Top 20 is also the most controversial in my memory, #14 from 2013, Lucas & Johnny Forza at 4.74. There are decimal points involved. This was the first regular bareback scene on Broke Straight Boys You can ask Mark just how controversial this scene was. When I have more time, I’ll dig deeper into the numbers. Fascinating stuff to me. :001_smile:

Yes, the Calhoun/Ethan scene has a 4.76, but the Calhoun/James Dawn scene has a 4.78. I don’t know why it is missing.

I clicked on the throwback but there is no rating on that page. So I had to find it in Calhoun’s model page and when I found it the rating is 4.78.

Jay is 100% correct. Mark, why is this 4.78 scene, higher than any other missing from the highest rated scene page?

I'm thinking it has something to do with that scene being up on throwback, maybe it takes it out of the tool for running the ratings as it doesn't see it? Just a guess ?
