Not that you're the only Jewish person in here...and others are welcome to chime in also... But was there generally a negative reaction in the Jewish community to the performing of gay marriages in Temple? Are most synagogues willing to perform gay marriages? Obviously we know any gay couple can go to a local courthouse or Justice of the Peace and get a civil marriage performed now. In the Jewish community are there certain conservative branches that refuse? If I've asked some questions that already display a total lack of knowledge about the faith, I'll apologize in advance. lol

I would think that only a progressive perhaps Reformed Temple would perform gay marriage ceremonies, certainly not by an Orthodox rabbi, but I will defer to perhaps jaunjo who seems more versed than I am in these matters.

That is an intriguing thought Foxyman.
