"I also find it interesting that the last few fucking scenes now involve condom use again. I would love to hear from Mark about these recent changes as he posted extensively when the condomless scenes began, as well as when BSB2 started and the change in directors at that point. I find it interesting how I am continually fascinated by this site whether I am enjoying the porn or not. "

I borrowed this quote from Mikeyank's post on the previous thread "Ian and Tate". I thought his question and his comments were worthy of more discussion but, I didn't want the scene discussion to be lost. (I hope that's okay?)

I too am more and more fascinated by this site as I am now a member during a time where I can see some evolution from the time I initially joined. I feel more "invested" and truly feel that is what the site owners/operators want.

After reading the various posts and comments regarding the spread of the HIV virus particularly within this industry, I am sure that (while I enjoy the BB, and models have even said that BB is more comfortable) this is a good move on the part of Blu Media to be "cautious" until they can feel confident that what they are doing to protect the models (as much as it is possible). I mentioned in another thread that, the responsibility also falls to the "workers in the industry" to do their part to be safe when not filming. Not to be controversial, presumptuous or anything like that. I simply am an all out fan of a model that, I noticed a (slightly faded) bruise mark that resembled a "hickey" in a recent scene. I say this only because, I am reminded, it's obvious that models have a life outside of the studio. When not filming, they are going to have fun and or find themselves in an intimate or sexual situation. Just because they have tested negative, they would need to ensure that they are also protecting themselves as much outside the studio. The studio can only provide so much!

As we stated when we first released a condom scene, we would offer both condom and non condom scenes. I am aware that this wasn't weighted out equally in the past but some production runs we shoot condom scenes just as we shoot bareback scenes. I know this may not answer everyone to their satisfaction but there is really no other reason. As of now we do continue to produce BB scenes as well. I would agree that is is always to be safer and there is no argument that a condom scene allows for that. I personally tend to like both condom and BB scenes while watching. It just depends on the model performance on how I rate a successful scene and not if there is a condom involved.

love you sha, but there has been far more bb than condom episodes lately. if equal is 3, 4, or 5 to 1, then the attempt to reach parity has been reached. it looks like the no condom group have the lead. the site is bb regardless of the claim to be a site that is more about mixing bb and condom. while no condom or condom is not the standard for measuring success of an episode, denying the trend is not being candid or even really being honest.

to be straight forward, since January there have been 50 bb and 30 condom episodes. closer to 2 to 1. when you could have nothing, that's close to equal.

someone posted this to facebook. yoda said, 'no try not! Do or do not, there is no try.' I will have to ask my mental health provider why I shared this posted.

Sha; I appreciate your input! Sometimes, when there is no clear understanding of how things work, (I speak for myself) everything is left up the" assumption" of how it works. We all know what the "ass-u-me" word does! Since I've not counted the scenes w/bb vs condoms, it over all gives me a better understanding. Just as some scenes with models may be released back to back, or spread out over time! Works for me! And thank you very much! I'll bet the strategies of production work are a real "bitch" sometimes!!!!!

I agree AnotherOne. This is why I said in my post that I was aware that the BB and condom scenes weren't weighted out equally in the past. What happens is each month we shoot for Broke Straight Boys We don't always use the scenes that we shot that month within the next month. It does seem that each month we either shoot all BB or all Condom. This is something that I am certainly trying to change moving forward. When we had a change in direction with the studio we weren't exactly left with a ton of content for updates so November proved to be a heavy shooting month. I chose to do condom scenes because quite frankly I didn't feel that the past direction focused much on condom and I feel that our site benefits from having both. By doing this, this let to a bunch of condom scenes to mix in with some BB scenes that we had in the can. We still have scenes not released from the previous director as scenes yet to be released from the current director so hopefully we will eventually get a fair mixture of content. This will of course take several months to iron out the kinks.

Your assertion is only true if Broke Straight Boys is NOT using the type of testing it said it would (PRN/Viral Load) which is expensive, but is using the cheaper antibodies test. If the former test is being used under the controlled circumstances shown in the testing BTS, then a condom is not necessary. If the cheaper antibody test is used, a condom is required. I personally tend to like both condom and BB scenes while watching. It just depends on the model performance on how I rate a successful scene and not if there is a condom involved.

This is really unclear to me. It seems that you are saying that Clay did too many BB scenes and you intend to balance that out. What is your goal? 1 for 1? What was the impact of doing bb scenes? Some forecasted the fall of the site and clearly that didn't happen. If anything it seems I read more favorable comments about BB being introduced.

I would say that yes, Clay did tend to do a lot of BB scenes as obvious by the updates. In my first statement when we started doing BB I mentioned that we would always still be doing both. This meant that in order to balance it out more, the month of November shoots was dedicated to condom scenes. I can't really answer what the ratio will be because we have only been doing BB for just at a year and we feel that it is still premature to base our decisions on that amount of time. As you see, where BB is extremely popular to some on here, Condom scenes are as equally popular. This is such a diverse site with many members that differ in opinion. I know it may not seem to some that we are listening, I assure you that we are. Unfortunately the decisions made will never make every single person happy. Again I assure you we base them on member feedback as well as the statistics that we gather on a daily basis.
