An Open Forum Question for Joninliverton

This morning on the Kyle Johnson thread, Silvercamel commented on his enjoyment of the "the great jon/mike debate….it goes on and on….it’s lots of fun." And I agree with Silver that this is an enjoyable debate for me too, and hopefully for Jon and perhaps some other interested forumites.

I joined this site way back when, after stumbling upon free clips from it while searching for straight guys having gay sex because I've had a fetish for straight young good looking fit dudes since I was in Junior High School myself, and it has carried out into my "senior years", and I'm not talking about senior High School, but the soon to be social security eligible crowd.

On the Kyle Johnson solo thread, Jon made the following comment.

My question for Jon and anyone else who cares to answer is why did you decide to pay for this site over the hundreds of others out there featuring hot twinks having gay sex, if the "straight" angle is irrelevant for you?

My answer is stated above due to my fetish for str8 guys, but if all that matters to you is a guy or guys putting "on a darned good show", then why is this the site that you choose to pay for? If you "don't give a fuck about his sexuality", I would imagine that you could find equally hot performers perhaps even on the free "tube" sites.

PS I debated if this belonged on the member or non member side of the forum, but as I am talking about the site and the models, I posted it here.

Well I'm not Jon but I'll chip in my opinion. I watched clips from this site from when I was a young teen (oops whatever everyone does) I always just liked the guys from Tyler to Jordan to Alan to name a few. It was always the guys I found hot and I guess you can say I like more "straight acting" guys. Doesn't mean they have to be hulking lumberjacks but just guys who are hot and not flamboyant. I generally like the "twink" type like Kodi, Max Flint and Carter Blane's type of body and cute face. (I'll take cute over sexy) If any of them turned out to be gay it wouldn't bother me because they still fit the mould I like. That goes towards any guy on the site. If they find a really hot guy but he has slightly gay mannerisms, I myself wouldn't care because the hotness overrides it. So I joined this sight because I always just like the set-up and the hot guys and when Kodi was on I had too! Hopefully that answers my point of view.

I like the closeness you get to the models. They become personalities (and the Forum helps with that too).

I like their lack of experience (maybe my fantasy) whether gay or straight.

But I'm not a fan of "awkward straight" or total passionless straight or straights in pain.

I love the evolution of guys (gay or straight) towards enjoying the gay experience.

I joined for similar reasons stated above. I like VARIETY above all. Different body types and guys who look like people you would see in "real life" not "studio/model" looking. It seems at the very least, a consistent feature this sites provides for me. I prefer "straighter acting" guys over guys who act like little girls. I am not completely caught up in the actual sexual preference as long as I can imagine they are what they say they are, who am I to judge? The better their "performance" the happier I am. In reality, I've yet to find a site that offers 100% straight guys doing what some of us would like to see, 100% of the time either. I really think that presenting this lad the way it was done, was an unfortunate and perhaps poor judgment call on someone's part. I might also ad that, I do take offense when people tell me where and how I should spend my dollars!

Well I am Jon (I think) and I too saw a short clip on one of those free porn sites. It was the time of Tyler Evans and I did so much have a crush on him so I joined. Once a member I then got attached and a fix to the forum and of course David. What I liked about Broke Straight Boys was the amount of information David managed to get out of the models and the dry cynical humour that used to come out of his mouth. But even in the olden days we would know what the model's sexuality was because David would ask that in the initial interview. We don't get that question asked anymore so there is nothing on record to determine which way the model swings.

But here is a question to Mike. Why are you really bothered about the current trend of models when the real issue of our concern is the bareback issue ?

I can't recall anyone here telling others how they should spend their dollars. I know that I and a few others have questioned if we "ourselves" are getting what we signed up for, as some of us contemplate if they should continue to shell out a portion of our pay checks for the site, but not trying to influence others how they should spend theirs, just speaking for ourselves. We all have our own individual desires and taste in the porn that turns us on.

But as you asked the question, I am still opposed to the bareback scenes, and I do feel that the models are putting themselves at risk, (despite the testing process that management has detailed for us). And secondly I believe it sends out a poor message, as many young guys check out online porn, and I highly doubt if the disclaimer posted on the scene descriptions are being read by the horny kids who find the clips to jerk off too, as I found magazines and porn novels for that purpose at that age myself.

But again that is a separate discussion which did lead to some members to questioning themselves regarding leaving the site, and some actually did quit over that issue. Thanks SC, this is how I pretty much feel. I joined for other reasons then why I stay. The forum and bonus sites are my main reason, and a few of the current models I really like.

I like Silvercamel's perspective on this issue. The fantasy on this site for myself is straight guys taking some money and going to a forbidden place, and maybe enjoying it a bit too much. Romeo and Skylar come to mind here.

Something else, though: I think it was Jon who recently made a comment, the theme of which, is to show some restraint and keep comments about models civilized. For the most recent model, I said something very mean, and I will not do that again. I have nothing against effeminate men; I'm just not attracted to them. For this site to work for me, I need to buy into the idea that we have straight guys doing gay things, and they do not want people to know about it. I made that statement to address the "mood" I get in when, the long-time members hold on to their disappointment with what the site used to be like, compared to the models, and the approach/direction being displayed today. When members do like the different scenes for whatever reasons, it seems to come up that there are other sites that offer that "whatever". No one has actually said it, but it comes across that way to me! Obviously (from the posts I've read) many have come to the site because of the LURE of STRAIGHT GUYS but, more importantly, have stayed for reasons beyond that (myself included.) Like your passion against "bare back," my passion is that people should feel free to choose this site and spend their money to enjoy "whatever" it is they enjoy. This is a great thread, Mike. I am finally finding out why my fellow forumites chose this site, and I can't disagree with any of them now.
