A Visit to the Futon and???

Well gang, David has spilled the beans. Last February I was the first Forumite to officially make it to the Futon. Sorry Runningscorpion, Casper, Kodaaa, Smoore, and a few others who we urge/encourage to make it to the futon.

I BEAT YOU ALL!!!

To be quit honest, I never planned it and, well things just happened. So let me tell you how it happened and tell you what it is like at the Broke Straight Boys Film Studio.

It all started with my taking a cruise out of Miami. A friend and I planned this cruise and I sent David a PM to ask about possible hotels in the area for us to stay (as we would have two days after the cruise). In addition, I asked David about what would be cheap transportation to Miami as we were flying into Fort Lauderdale. I was hoping to find an alternative to buying the transportation package from the cruise line. Since my friend was flying in from Detroit and I from Calif. he would arrive about 2 1/2 hours after I did I would wait for him and then we would go to Miami.

Well David responded by saying he would be us up and drive us to the pier. He also said he would take me to the Studio for the tour before my friend arrived. After the tour we would pick up my friend and drive to Miami. Did I mention my friend is straight? And Broke? That was far more than I have expected or planned. Now lets talk about my experiences.

After landing as I headed to baggage claim and as I'm going down the escalator, there is David holding a D & E Production sign. This is how he greets arriving models. It is too bad I did not bring my video camera. I could have done my own video of what the the models experience. Maybe next time? Meeting David for the first time, was like meeting a friend I have not seen in a long time. We kind of knew each other from e-mails and talking, but now I can hear "the Voice" in person.

As we left the airport and headed to the studio we just had a good time talking. As we approach the studio, you would never in your wildest dreams think this was a porn studio. Just a plain looking building just off a main street in what looks like a small strip mall. NO, there were no Giant signs of Broke Straight Boys or D & E Production, etc. You could walk right by it and know know what is going on.

After David spends time punching in security codes, tranquilizers the killer doberman pinschers and killer boa's, we enter the office studio. Walking in to the main office is a large relatively empty space that is not set up for now. On the right side is the desk of the VIP of the office, Monica and beside her is where all the cameras etc. are stored.

We then went to visit the office of Mr. Evans. One of the first things that struck me was the beautiful either color drawing or painting that a forum member did of Mr. Evans and sent to him. David filled me in on what Mr. Evans does. One of his jobs is to keep the completed vids and date and order then and then send them to Mark. THEY ARE ORGANIZED BY DATE THEY ARE FILED AND SENT OUT SO NOTED!!!!! He keeps a well organized office. We then visited Eddies office, a larger office next door to Mr. Evans. and next door to Eddies is David's "PALACE" complete with window. We walked to the storage area filled with Videos of the College Boy Physicals and Seymore Dicks. If you want to see more of your favorite Models, he has zillions of videos. I did make some suggestions to perhaps make them available to the membership (the store only notes two College Boy Physicals Vids).

I saw the "Famous" 'GREEN ROOM' where the models wait until they are called for. It is Green and filled with posters of Broke Straight Boys and Models, couch, chair etc. You can tell that some/most of the models smoke. NERVES???

They also have a small refreshment room with fridge for drinks, snacks. Etc.
Now having seen all of this, the time had come to VISIT THE FUTON.

I always wondered what the studio was like, sometimes in the video you hear noises like children playing and gardeners using mowers and leaf blowers ( to those in my neck of the woods that is a hockey term for the Toronto Maple Leaf fans).
And the green room is actually green?

Because of the nature of the business, our old office was a converted apartment. When we started filming or I should say, when we first got into this business, Eddie and I lived in a two bedroom apartment. We converted our 2nd bedroom to the office and then we filmed on the original futon in the office. We had very little room and not much to offer. We did our best with what we got. Thankfully we moved out into a large townhome and kept the apartment. We moved the Broke Straight Boys set into the living room, the 2nd bedroom was the College Boy Physicals set and the main bedroom was our office. Then we grew again...so we rented a 3 bedroom apartment and that was the office and then Broke Straight Boys went into the main bedroom and film many, many scenes there and College Boy Physicals remained the same. The living room was were the models hung out.

Now at this point...many must be asking why apartments. Here in South Florida we don't have many available space that can offer both office and studio space. We were able to get a really nice office space but no studio. Studios to film here in South Florida is very hard to find. So it seemed the apartment setting was the way to go.

My frustration was getting the better of me because the problem with filming in an apartment is that we had kids playing, they were doing construction to the building and there was a lot of back ground noise...this frustrated the hell out of me...it pissed me off. We couldn't complain because we were filming porn and not using the apartment what it was meant to be.

So in 2008, we started searching high & low....we couldn't find any space that met our needs. Then once we found a place, and once we disclosed that we were a porn studio...then we got declined and shut out. One person didn't mind that we did porn...but then he asked if it was gay or straight...we told him gay, and he didn't rent to us. But finally, our search led us to this new office space and studio...it was a shit hole and we had to put a lot of TLC into the place and get it fixed up. The owner of the building is a great person and didn't care what we did for a business and gave us a great price. It so happens he's straight but has a gay son and his son is a fan of the site, so that help alot...and oh...his son loves Tyler (I had to mention that)...LOL.

We've been here now for almost a year and we have been continually growing and adding onto the office and making improvements. Soon the College Boy Physicals set will be ready in its new set and we can expand the Broke Straight Boys set and do more stuff. Its a humble office and studio but we have room for growth and we have a great location, close to my home...easy access to the highway and very close to Ft.Lauderdale as well as Miami...we are enjoying the new office!

The point in having Vice tell you guys about his experience was the fact that I showed him all the reels that were filmed. When many of you guys complain about updates and when you going to see new models and we tell you it takes a while because we have lots of content...I don't think you guys believe me. Vice has seen the draw we keep the content and he can tell you guys...I'm not joking...so when we ask for your patients, please don't get all pissy on management.

Great questions. The apartment we were in was on the first floor and due to the construction of the building, you couldn't hear your neighbors. Plus we were the end apartment so we only had one neighbor to our left and then an upstairs neighbor. Nobody was able to hear.

As for College Boy Physicals, that we pay the models a set price and we do have the porn in the background...but when your laying on the exam table, its hard to watch. Its there running if the model needs help getting hard.

Both at home and the studio your seen with boys coming and going every day of the week. Do any or did any of your neighbors ever wonder what you were up to?

Perhaps I don't know and I can't imagine what the neighbors think...but this is a funny story.

As many of you know we house many of the models. Each week we get new models and repeat models coming and going. Our next door neighbor is super cool and knows what we do for a living and it doesn't bother her. We rarely film in our home and if we do we are for down-low about it and when the boys are home after filming all day, they are quiet and again, we don't hear our neighbors due to the construction of our townhouse. Remember here in Florida the building codes are different. Because we get hurricanes or can get a hurricane our building is made from brick so you never hear your next door neighbors.

When the other neighbor moved in her and her husband got very friendly with us. I guess after a while of saying hello and speaking to her and the husband, she finally got the nerve to ask what we do for a living...I love telling people we own and operate and run an adult video production studio...its so precious to see there reactions and facial expressions. In most cases, everyone thinks our job is really cool and is amazed and asks us 101 questions about the industry.

This was the case with our new neighbors. However, she didn't tell me she has a lot of gay friends and I think her husband was bisexual (but that's another story). Matter of fact all her friends were gay guys. So one night the models and I and Eddie were up on the balcony. We have two balconies in the townhouse. It was Logan, Shane (not Tank) and Austin Grant plus Eddie and myself on the main balcony and Jen, our neighbor, walked outside with about 3 of her gay friends and they all looked up at the balcony and we hear her say to her friends, "Oh! check up there...that is the were the Broke Straight Boys stay". Her friends got all giggly, and looked up and they were like, "OMG!!! Its Logan!!!! screaming like a bunch of crazy teenage school girls as if Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise was standing on my balcony...it was embarrassing. Then it happen again a few weeks later when we had other models on the balcony...so Eddie and I was thinking..."is she giving out tours"...we didn't mention anything to her because she just moved out, but I told Eddie if she keeps it up I was going to say something to her...but since she moved...I didn't say anything.

I can't imagine what our other neighbors think and what is said about us within our community. However, we are very respectful and we keep low-key. As I mentioned before we live in a very upscale area of South Florida so we make sure the models aren't acting like a bunch of animals, and they can see the type of community we live in so just by default, even the models know themselves to act accordingly.

As for our new office & studio...the office and studio are together in one location so its a business and zoned as a business. Were our business is located and zoned, it considered the "red light" district of South Florida and its zoned for Adult Business. Next door to us is a "whorehouse/Escort" company, across the street is a strip club, down the road are a few more strip clubs...the largest adult toy company in the United States has there warehouse down the block....we are the only gay adult video production studio here...but I think a gay strip club is moving into this area...so seeing hot girls and guys in this area is not uncommon and its acceptable.

It is very interesting to see how your business has grown etc throughout the years. Maybe I can open a franchise here in my area, Buffalo and Southern Ontario Canada!
There are alot of colleges and University of Buffalo has thousands of broke college guys, hell I am one. Too bad I am way too camera shy and still a virgin to male sex.
