As Hurricane Sandy gets closer and closer to New York City, we are in full emergency mode, with the entire transit system, including subways and busses closing down at 7 PM & 9 PM respectively today, and a mandatory evacuation of low lying area's by 7 PM tonight. The schools have also been closed for Monday.

I live on higher ground, so I will hopefully be safe and sound here, but to anyone in harms way on the Eastern seaboard, I hope you all stay safe and dry, and are not subjected to flooding and power outages. Good Luck And Godspeed to all!

Keep both of your heads above the water line, that's an order!

Dearest Mikeyank,

You know how much I value your frientship. All I can think of is this impending...

I will be praying for you and everyone on the Eastern Coastline for your safety. Please let me know the minute you get the...

Ship Ahoy

Reef the mainsails, tie a bowline, battle to keep your ship afloat, Mike.

Or we could go to "the boss", Bruce Springstein for his version of "Sandy", from the fourth of July in Asbury Park, New Jersey. I do love songs with images like:

"And the boys from the casino dance with their shirts open
like Latin lovers along the shore Chasin' all them silly girls"

Do you have to evacuate from zone A Mike?

Thanks to Stimpy & Robert, but as of 4 PM on Sunday, nothing has happened yet, except for a whole lot of hype about the dangers coming, but right now it is cloudy, a bit windy about 68 degrees, a pleasant afternoon, where the Jets are still playing football as I type this, but any television channel we turn on, all we see is this ominous map.

But I understand how unpredictable these storms can be, so I will "batten down the hatches", (whatever that means), and wait out the storm.

Thanks everyone, but as of right now, it is all calm and peaceful, and no I do not live in an evacuation zone, which are on the low lying land near the water. I live in Brooklyn Heights, as in it's name is a good distance above the shoreline. Of course we can still have wind blown trees and power lines being knocked down, and power outages, but for now all is peaceful and quiet in home sweet home.
I will report back, (as long as the power is on). :001_cool:
