Hey Everyone,
I was just taking note of the fact that the most recent highest numbered video I have downloaded (With Jake and Ethan) is number 2063. So I wondered if we had already reached episode number 2,000. To figure that out, it's not as easy as it might seem. (Spoiler alert!) We haven't gotten there yet. lol Apparently all of the BTS vids are counted in the same order as actual sex scenes. Which is still accurate in the sense that even BTS vids are legitimate videos offered to the members. Also over the course of several years there are likely some vids (be they BTS's or porn) that were filmed but never released due to some quality or technical problems. So I did some inconclusive sleuthing to try to figure it all out. (And yes. I know I need to get a life. hahaha)
The 1,000th porn video of the site was celebrated with the release on 4/13/14 of an orgy with Tyler White (Bless his heart. MHRIP), and also featuring Paul Canon, Damien Kyle, Kaden Alexander and Dakota Ford

The number of that video rather than being an actual 1000, was/is actually 1209. So if we take the most recently released and highest numbered video I know of at this time...which is 2063, and subtract 1209 from that...it comes down to a difference of 854 new scenes since 2014. Still shy by what might appear to be only 146 more scenes before we reach the 2,000 mark. But we've also had many more BTS and the "Getting To Know Model X" videos in the last 4 years. So that pushes the 146 number up even higher. I still think it's below 200 though. My best guess is that if all goes well we'll reach it by the spring or summer of 2020.
Another spoiler alert here is that while I don't believe at all that there is any attempt to deceive...the release dates of the vids from the earliest days of the site, I don't believe are accurate. When I joined in 2008 I'm all but certain that when I first viewed the older scenes from the archives, the earliest vid of the site was actually released in 2003. Not 2006.
Some newer members, (as opposed to some of us dinosaurs who have been here a decade or more, lol) may wonder why a site whose first video aired on April 6th of 2006 (or quite possibly 2003) took a full 8-11 years to reach the 1,000 scenes milestone... While the site seems poised to reach that second 1,000 scene milestone in only 5 and a half years. As a bit of Broke Straight Boys history and trivia, during the first years of the site, including all of 2008 when I joined in October and most of 2009...we only got one new scene update per week. Just one. haha We looked forward to it every Friday night. At midnight. haha So if you were too tired from a day or a week at work, and couldn't stay up that late...you had to wait for a convenient time on Saturday to watch it. The good old days! haha
The start of the forum in 2008 was a Godsend for members and for the site itself for member retention purposes. With only one new episode per week I figured I would just stay for a month, watch all the videos I could in that one month, and then quit until a later time. I was so computer illiterate that I didn't even know how to download vids back then. I thought my only option was to watch them in streaming format. lol But no doubt many of us members figured that with 48 updates per year, why not just quit and wait another 6 months to a year or so to come back and see the newer videos?
The forum gave us a reason to really want to stay with the site during those days. We talked about our personal lives. We talked about politics. We talked about philosophy, religion, sex. Everything you're not supposed to talk about at cocktail parties. haha We talked about our excitement and anticipation for the upcoming release of the weekly video. We talked a lot about the Broke Straight Boys bonus sites. Legitimate friendships were formed over an artificial, ethereal new-ish medium of the internet.
I'm curious if management might give us a better approximation of where we sit on reaching the 2,000th scene. I doubt they would consider it to be a matter a state or corporate secrecy. But one never knows. haha
