Will the era of Jake Spencer mark the beginning of BSB 4.0?

Excellent post, Jaybird. I, for one, would not be willing to lose him because he refused to bottom. Some of the folks who do think bottoming is a rule. It's not. It's a choice. I'm just guessing but I think it took a lot of persuading and money to get Mike Robbins, Diesal and Ayden to bottom so nothing is certain. The fact remains, it's a model's choice.

I liked Axel, too.
You can march with us elyot1! :sign0045: :thankyou:And thanks for mentioning some of the great tops from our archives, who only reluctantly bottomed. I would add in the great Tank Shane as well.

I would like to come to the defence of Broke Straight Boys's. The time I have had chance to go thru the archives of the current management , seen recent scenes, I have never seen or heard Sha tell a model if he was uncomfortable with a action, he was fired. I have seen, one actor decide in the middle of a scene, he just couldn't do it. Cage Kafig tried talking him out of leaving, Sha tried to talk him into staying, but they respected his wishes to leave. I have seen, when Hunter wasn't willing to do some of the sexual acts asked of him, he was reminded by model he wouldn't get paid. I have heard Sha asked Brice Jones if he was willing to do something other than just be given a blow job & fuck Davon. He agreed to give Davon one hella blow job. Levi Jackson was asked if he was ready to bottom by Sha, he was filmed using Dildo's. I bring up these scenes, there a lot more in which Broke Straight Boys's have gone out of their way to accommodate the models. Let it be with encourage to the models to look at gay porn as in the case with Draven Caine and offering him other models to mentoring him. Sha brought in Justin Dean and stated there was a lack of bottoms on the site at the moment. Ben Dover inquired into bottoming because he heard there was more money to be made. I imaging putting together couples together must be trying, vet/newbie. People willing to experiment, those only top/bottom. I am sure there is an intense interviewing process, I trust these guys or I wouldn't be here. I don't get all I want, but that is just life, right?
Broke Straight Boys's is based on their models & Porn, so for them to mistreat them would be bad for business. As a business, they attempt to balance the request of us the paying public with that of their product, the models. I have a lot of respect for Sha & Mark.
So I just can't imagine them telling someone, your fired if you don't do a sexual act, your not comfortable in doing. However they have the right to terminate someone if they hurt the product they are trying to put in front of us. Like any business, they should want to keep the paying public happy. Money is the driving force, Broke Straight Boys's is the name of the site, Broke Straight Boys The Straight section may be up to debate, but the Broke part isn't. And guys it is only Porn

Thank you for respecting my opinion. I still hold that "sometimes it seems that viewpoints are attacked and not welcomed."

"ALL Broke Straight Boys MODELS SHOULD BOTTOM!!!!!

I will go so far as to re-state it "ALL Broke Straight Boys MODELS SHOULD BOTTOM!!!!!

Look forward to watching Jake and Sky BOTTOM

Should and must are two different things, right? Though I'm not sure if this should means that if they don't, they'll have to quit.

I definitely would love to see everybody bottom! You can't tell whether they'll be good and excel at it. Ultimatum sounds kinda harsh but a little pressure to get them outside their comfort zone shouldn't be so bad right?

Most models start with topping, many people are happy, I might not, but so be it. Anyway like Mr. Observer here I too am looking forward to watching Jake and Sky bottom!

Nice post Pete! with all the arguments and examples! Hope Sha & Mark aren't going insane trying to keep up accommodating everybody here and clearly thanks for their hard work! And hope they'll get all these models to do the many things all of us are looking forward to seeing on the site!

You're right and I wish he hadn't. We didn't see much of him after that.

I know from personal experience that I have done things in my 20s that I wish I could forget. Things I wish I could change, but can’t. I certainly am not speaking on behalf of any of these models or know any of their circumstances. I would just hate to know that someone 20 years from now is battling depression over something maybe they felt pressured into when they were younger. Not suggesting at all that anyone is holding a gun to anyone’s head and forcing them to do something they truly don’t want. Money talks.....especially when you’re younger. Bottoming for the first time would be a huge decision for any straight guy to make, and for some is mentally something they just can’t do. I respect everyone’s difference of opinions, but I personally am not mad if I don’t see a particular model bottom if it’s completely out of their comfort zone.
If bottoming wasn’t such a difficult step, then why don’t we expect the bottom boys to top? It’s definitely not mentioned as much and is a double standard in my opinion. I do think sometimes if we were more patient, models might be willing to explore more.

You and I are in the same camp Jay. It's not worth losing a good model if he is pressured into bottoming. If you have the signs printed, #justiceforAxel, I will go out and march with you brother. :anyone: lol

I like the way you think, Jaybird.

Well said! If there wasn’t a little pressure like you are getting paid to do xyz the early models would not have even touched each other. The game is gay for pay. None of them show up at the studio not knowing what is expected these days.

I’ve also heard in a recent BTS ,(I don’t remember which one) Sha saying to the model that when they initially interviewed for the position that Broke Straight Boys was specifically looking for a “bottom”. So if some models are specifically hired to bottom is it possible some are hired to specifically top? And if so, is it really fair to throw something at them they’re not ever expecting to have to do? I’m just speaking out loud...I have no idea what is discussed when hiring a new model.

None of us really know what is said in the initial interviews when the models get hired. Only Sha, Bryce or Mark or someone else involved in the hiring process can answer those questions for us Jay. And so far they are remaining silent on this issue, so we can only speculate.

My speculation is that they are given the choice of what to do, with the offer of more money for the more they decide to do, but my guess is that ultimately it's the model's decision. And after that it's management's decision of whether to re-hire them for future scenes. And that's the way I think it should be handled.

Thank you another1, one of our distinguished long time forumites and expert statistician.

Pete from St. Pete has cited me for my interest in stats. Meet another1, Pete. He is the expert who has detailed records of all Broke Straight Boys scenes including the actual scene number for each episode, so he knows the order the scenes are filmed.

It is so nice to know that while his posting is limited, he still is the dude with ALL the numbers. You are amazing another1.

As I think about it, another1's post was most useful information to me, as it is very clear when Clay took over the production from David to begin Broke Straight Boys-2. But I had no clear recollection of when Johnny Robbins, Damian Christopher or the Bryce/Sha combo all began. When I have time I will go back to look at the first scene under each of them.

Particularly when there is no current update that interests me, we have all the history in the archives of almost thirteen years of episodes. And for me the "back stories" always spice up the on screen performances. Having another1's info is almost like a "directors cut" of the scenes.

For all of you who haven’t met Mikeyank in persons, here is a shot of him diligently searching through the archives to verify the origins of Broke Straight Boys 3.0. Or is it 3.52?

So many scenes so little time.
