I knew the topic would get some attention. I have been laying back for a while enjoying the conversations the forum has been a buzz with.the Jake Spencer craze. I am sure Broke Straight Boys's support and Management has also. It is refreshing to see the members passion & interest in this model. Being the geek I am, I did a little research.
The first time Jake Spencer is mentioned is a post, by the forums Captain Mikeyank, 9/23/19 (Upcoming BTS-Getting to know Jake Spencer) with 36 replies. (A Timid Jake Spencer Jerks) followed by Mikeyank, 10/4/18. getting 24 replies. (Jake Spencer Fucks Ethan Erickson coming on Oct. 26, 2018) 10/20/18 again by Mikeyank with 23 replies.
(What happened to Jake Spencer) followed by dt3212 on 10/20/18 with a respectful 17 replies. (Jake Spencer) by Napscoordinator on 10/25/18 received a whopping 64 replies, with comments still being added.
New guys Learning (Jake fucks Ethan) by Oldfart63 on 10/26/18 with a decent total of 40 replies was next. (Jake fucks John) started by SFP519 on 11/7/18, 13 replies. (Jake fucks Xavier) one of Jake's highest ranking scenes by SFP501 coming in with 22 replies to it's thread. (Jake & Marcus) by Funbilly, 3 weeks ago had 34 replies.
(Jake so,so,so uber stud) by Caribou 4 weeks ago, cheered on by Mikyank. (Time for Jake Spencer to get fucked) sparked up the masses into a great debate, started by dt3212 1 week ago. bring fort 56 replies and a statement " Here's the deal as I see it, and this is for Broke Straight Boys-2018/2019. It has nothing to do with my "vast knowledge of Broke Straight Boys history. lol" by our trusted veteran.... Mikeyank. He'll say I took it out of context but he had me thinking (which is a dangerous thing to do). Continuing (Jake Spencer fucks Chris Bareback) started by Mikeyank a week ago, 29 replies.
Oh less not forget Mikeyank reminding us about the records Jake Spencer is setting in his weekly to biweekly top performers ranking.
So I ask you, will this be known as Broke Straight Boys's 4.0? This was all done in the name of fun, as I always say "It's just Porn" Looking forward to the next Jake Spencer Scene. :smiley-sex022:

I think it’s funny how all of you are so crazy about him. I do like him a lot, but to me he’s not any more special than others. And hey, looks like he’s number 2 now. I’m sure that won’t last long, because some of you will now start giving Sky poor ratings to bring Jake ahead, and that’s just silly and really not fair. I think there must be a lot of new members who rank but don’t necessarily comment. To me, the world is full of beautiful people and we all have different tastes.

Btw....I didn’t mean anything nasty or shitty by my last comment.

I don't know, pete. There seems to have been quite a number of iterations of Broke Straight Boys since Broke Straight Boys 2.0 back in April 2011. I've lost count. I think we have to refer this question for a definitive answer to the site's Maven and Mayor, our beloved Mikey.

Pete, generally we have termed the versions of Broke Straight Boys 1.0, 2.0 etc because of a change of producer of Broke Straight Boys DAVID, the original producer and 2.0 was Clay. They sort of had a few and then Sha and the mansion etc. the company themselves announced 2.0 but I think we have sort of adopted the rest. I think a case could be made that 4.0 would be at the new location which is kind of like going back to the mansion in Colorado. But I would definitely defer to Mikeyank on this.

I've been called "captain", "mayor" and "maven" on this thread, so I thought I ought to respond. lol First thanks to Pete for his extensive and probably exhaustive research. Job well done my friend! :thumbup1:

As far as which version of Broke Straight Boys we are in now, it is all a speculative term by us. Management to my knowledge has never referred to any numbered versions of the site, as it has always been owned by Mark with his BluMedia company. The most dramatic change was when the original production company of D&E, owned by David & Eddie was let go and it became an all "in house" production. When Mark hired Clay to direct the scenes with a new format, we the forumites dubbed the new era as Broke Straight Boys-2.

After that the changes were more subtle. Mark consolidated all operations to Colorado, where the scenes were filmed as well as the models housed in "the mansion". Directors changed and we had Johnny Robins, Damian Christopher and eventually Sha with the assistance of his long term business partner Bryce, as they took over the direction of the scenes. But there were never clear cut different versions of the site. As I said, the changes were subtle.

Management has also been somewhat secretive about the location of the more recent studios, but apparently they were based in or around Atlanta, and there is speculation that operations may have shifted to Florida, as we see a new house with different sets, but again it has never been definitely stated by management.

As far as this being the "Jake era", I highly doubt that. We have had the "flavor of the month" for as long as I've been on the site. At one time it was Tyler Evans who dominated the site and the forum. Also Austin, Dustin, Diesal and Mike Robbins were alternately praised and then criticized for being "over used". Then with the onset of "Broke Straight Boys-2", as I call it, we had the same situation with Jimmy Johnson, and later Paul & Damien, Tyler White and Johnny Forza to name a few. So I don't see Jake as a new era, just a phase. Perhaps the attention will shift to Sky or someone else. The way I look at it, the models are all transitory. It is the loyal fans who are the fixtures.

And so that is my "State of the Union" speech for 2019. LOL

Thanks you my friends, Mike & Rep, I wrote the thread to point out that no one model defines the forum or Broke Straight Boys I enjoyed the excitement and conversation about Jake, which has lead to an injection of interest into the forum. You guys conform the idea I was trying to get across. Mike you always said" that everyone's opinion is welcome" & I agree, (in my humble opinion) some were getting to serious about Jake. All of us come to the forum for different reasons. But some again in my humble opinion seem to forget this is just an escape from the real serious stuff. You are correct about the different models, who have come & yet to come. My comments was the idea of a modest proposal, my way of reminding some not to take this so serious. The unfortunate fact is some didn't understand my point, so it's my bad. If I offended some, it was not my purpose, I enjoy the forum & like you have said, it makes the Broke Straight Boys experience that more pleasurable. PS Your State Of the Union was more enjoyable than the official one.

Not sure how anyone could have taken umbrage with your post/thread. It was well done and well said. As you stated, this really isn't serious stuff considering all of the "real" serious stuff in the world today (and in our Country to boot). Broke Straight Boys is a diversion, a little time for fantasy away from reality. Also an opportunity to communicate back and forth with our forum friends. Not to skip the fact that there is a lot of viewing pleasure on this site.

That makes total sense about the "Flavor of the month". I figured the highest rated boys change from time to time. In fact, I would replace a few of the boys on the first page with a few of the boys that are the second page...LOL. But that's just my personal preference which don't mean shit. :)

Now I am going to have to look up some of the names you mentioned. I will probably recognize their faces. I do know who Damien and Paul are.

Interesting forum here. I get a kick out of reading the viewpoints on this site. Just as entertaining as the video content.
I have my favorite models and look forward to seeing more of them. And I prefer to see ALL MODELS BOTTOM after a while. While I may be in the minority of that opinion it is CLEARLY my right to express such an opinion as it is the right of all members to FREELY voice their thoughts.
Though I do read that sometimes it seems that viewpoints are attacked and not welcomed.
I have been around observing for quite some time as i often switch membership names over the past many many years. I have the changes from Broke Straight Boys 1.0 to til now and like some good parts from each version and hope to see how it further evolves.
ALL Broke Straight Boys MODELS SHOULD BOTTOM!!!!!!!....my opinion

Being that you "often switch membership names over the past many many years", I would assume that we've exchanged viewpoints in the past. And I really don't see it all that common that, "sometimes it seems that viewpoints are attacked and not welcomed."

But speaking for myself while I may disagree as I do with the position that "ALL Broke Straight Boys MODELS SHOULD BOTTOM!!!!!!!", I certainly respect your opinion and encourage everyone to give their honest heartfelt opinions on this forum. I've often said that no one paying member's opinion is any more valid than anyone else's.

As much as I am loathe to correct our maven Mayor, I feel historical accuracy indicates it. When introducing Jimmy Johnson to us on 4/2/2011 management described the video as follows: "Jimmy is the first crop of boys to help us launch the all new Broke Straight Boys 2.0 ..."

While we forumites did not name 2.0, forumites have numbered other iterations. If my memory is accurate I think I dubbed Johhny Robbins' period as Broke Straight Boys 2.5 (not totally sure) and then I seem to remember someone using 3.0 at some point (could have been when sha took over). Thus, it appears that these numerical designations came about with directorial changes (admittedly management used Jimmy instead of its real reason being, as the Mayor states, the firing of David and hiring of Clay.

Mikey, you are Mayor by virtue of your being the site's Maven, with special emphasis on its history. And the forum is the better because of it!!

Thank you for respecting my opinion. I still hold that "sometimes it seems that viewpoints are attacked and not welcomed."

"ALL Broke Straight Boys MODELS SHOULD BOTTOM!!!!!

I will go so far as to re-state it "ALL Broke Straight Boys MODELS SHOULD BOTTOM!!!!!

Look forward to watching Jake and Sky BOTTOM

And I respectfully have the opposing point of view that all models should have freedom of choice.

I agree!

I don’t feel every Broke Straight Boys should bottom, because I feel it leads to models quitting, being let go, bad chemistry and slim pickings when it comes to casting. I feel if your favorite “straight Boy” ends up bottoming look at it as a bonus. I asked the question before on another thread, and I’m not sure if it was ever answered, but I’m curious.....(I’m only using Jake as an example). If Jake’s being pressured to bottom led to him not wanting to come back, would you be ok with that? He kisses, rims, blows and swallows.....basically everything but bottom, would you be willing to lose him if he refused to bottom?

I’m still mad about Axel Kane’s departure....sorry y’all, I can’t let it go. #justiceforAxel. LOL

Amen brother! I agree. You are preaching to the choir for many of us. It is actually quite rare that a model doesn’t bottom. I like Broke Straight Boys because they seem to have a policy of at least doing what they can to get most of them to bottom.

You and I are in the same camp Jay. It's not worth losing a good model if he is pressured into bottoming. If you have the signs printed, #justiceforAxel, I will go out and march with you brother. :anyone: lol

Excellent post, Jaybird. I, for one, would not be willing to lose him because he refused to bottom. Some of the folks who do think bottoming is a rule. It's not. It's a choice. I'm just guessing but I think it took a lot of persuading and money to get Mike Robbins, Diesal and Ayden to bottom so nothing is certain. The fact remains, it's a model's choice.

I liked Axel, too.
