I really have to agree with a lot of what you said here! If I want to imagine a model is....and I can fill in my own blanks, that's what my fantasy is! That's mine and I own it for the 20 or so minutes of the scene their in! Now with regard to Twitter....the only thing I can say is: These guys are in the "Entertainment Business". Some are content with just doing scenes on a particular site while pursuing other endeavors, and some see it as an opportunity to gain a little bit of adulation from fans. Part of entertaining is reaching out. They do this through social media.....Social media, more specifically Twitter is all about getting followers and promoting others to promote you as well! It's called "Social Networking" in some circles LOL. But, like you, I don't need to be one of those people buying favors (for the lack of a better way to say it) to enjoy a models body of work. Chances are for me anyway, after a while.....I'm on to the newest shining object of my desire anyway!!!! LOL And I look at it this way also. Some models use the Social Media networking opportunities and some don't. Every body is different and their needs/desires/ motives/ objectives .....are different. That's the way I see it............
Absolutely true about Twitter. I have no trouble at all with the professional entertainers using social media to promote themselves or their works. That's what it's there for. And I have no problem with whether the models are professionals or not. It's the fantasy of their work that I'm here for. I guess it's just a revelation of how the internet has affected our social interaction. When interactions happened in clubs or other venues, where guys had actual contact with each other, you could be having a conversation with someone. Maybe you found them interesting. Or maybe you found them really hot as hell and wanted to go further, but either way there was always a bit of mystery. It usually was someone who had more info to come up and say, "I just wanted to let you know, but he's hustler". How you wanted to deal with that information was up to you.
But this is so different. There is no personal contact, and there is certainly no mystery. However, I'm not going to be the one who says, "Watch out for (fill in the blank) he's a hustler". Today guys put that out there for everyone to see. That's no skin off my nose. I just prefer the guys who don't feel they want or need to do that. That's why i mentioned Shawn, Ronan Kennedy, Tanner. and LJ and won't be naming the others. I doubt that I'll look at Twitter anymore, either. Why bother spoiling my fantasies with their facts.
