What BSB is lacking, (in my own personal opinion)

And for me at least, that is the one thing that appealed to me (and still does) about this site. The "Straight Boys"in the title did catch my attention! I've come across a lot of sites with Straight Guys in the description, but the first couple of scenes I previewed were of guys who didn't look necessarily like "They would be in a gay porn scenario" to me. Guys like: Jamie, Shane, Nathan, Jordan, to name a few, they were among the first scenes I saw. I quickly realized that these were guys I liked the looks of. They (to me) didn't have to be extraordinarily beautiful! Much like the types of guys I would see every day. While some were better looking than others, they didn't look like "Porn Stars" I'd see on sites like: Bel Ami for example, who all have an almost standard look about them and are mostly above average good looking. They aren't guys I don't find attractive, just not as stimulating for me to watch sexually all of the time. The guys here vary in shapes and sizes and looks! And seemingly....always have

I'm sure that we all agree that terms such as "hot" or "sexy" or even "good looking" are all highly subjective. And we the fans of Broke Straight Boys have no inside information, nor should we regarding how successful the site is today compared to a year ago, or five years ago, as only management knows the number of subscribers and the average amount that each member pays for their subscription. And so the only way we can judge or compare today with periods in the past are by the member voted "ratings", which appear to be on the up and up, as management would have no reason to "fudge" the numbers for older or previous models from different periods of the site. If they were going to alter the ratings, it would be to their advantage to make the current guys look good, so I do believe that the numbers we see are accurate.

The current top eight all time models by the numbers are, Adam, Johnny F, Brandon Evans, Tanner, Vadim Black, Tyler Griffin Ronan Kennedy and Brady Bennett, all rated between 4.6 and 4.57, and they all have in a general sense the classic Broke Straight Boys look. In comparison the three most recent models with a different body type are currently rated as follows:
Mikah - 3.38
Jacob 3.95
Flip 3.18

I understand that many of the top eight have been around for a lot longer period of time and it is unfair to totally judge these three newbies by the same standards as say Adam or Johnny from 2012 or the others on the list, but never-the-less, there is a sharp difference in the numbers between the all time fan favorites and the most recent additions to the site.

It's been said on this thread and others that times are changing and it is good to introduce a different look to perhaps be more inclusive of varying body types, and ages of models, but I believe that based on the numbers alone, the over-all membership here is still into the "classic Broke Straight Boys look" typified by the top rated models. And while I am not nearly as familiar with other sites out there as some, but I do believe that all sites have a niche type that their membership expects to see at least most of the time, and it is my opinion that Broke Straight Boys is straying further away from their norm than ever before, and it does not please me, and obviously not the over-all membership, based on current ratings.

I agree 100% with you Betu! I did say that the only "numbers" we are privy to are the member ratings, and I clearly remember a member of Broke Straight Boys staff a few years ago who called himself WebMonkey who told us that the key stat that management uses in determining a model's popularity and his being invited back is what he called "hits", or the number of times folks hit on a scene and that is one of many numbers that we as fans do not see, and again I'm not saying we should, as it is a private business.

But I stand by my thoughts that the newer type of model being presented is not the type that has been most popular over the years with Broke Straight Boys membership. If this is the state of the entire gay porn industry in 2017, so be it, but I can only comment on the only site I belong to, Broke Straight Boys

Truth is Mike yank that Broke Straight Boys is a lower tier studio at this point and the whole industry is having a hard time recruiting and if there is a hot model they most likely will go to highest bidder which in most cases won't be Broke Straight Boys or the model will just go independent

I guess I should stop complaining as I don't want to pay more for this site, so I should just be grateful when we get hot guys like you here at least for a while and also grateful that Ronan Kennedy, Tanner, and Gage Owens are still here and that we are getting return visits coming up from Brandon, Cage Kafig and yes even Vadim Black! lol

Well, you said nothing mean-spirited, so I would hope management wouldn't be pissed. If so that's on them. I think we all (well, the older members, anyway) know where Broke Straight Boys sort of falls in the porn chain. There are OBVIOUSLY bigger and fancier and higher-paying sites out there. To me, Broke Straight Boys is what MTV would be like today if they had never changed and stuck to their original format. Cool and cutting edge when they started and throughout their heyday, but then would have started to fade and look old and tired, but would still be loved for the nostalgia and as that classic "old-timer" guy who's standing his ground and holding tight to his way of life. I'm terribly nostalgic about the 80s, but it was the proverbial "best time of my life," so it's those memories that I cherish dearly as cruel Father Time steadily ushers me along the path of life. I'm not sure about the part about Broke Straight Boys returning to its old glory. But if that's something that makes you happy, then keep on holding on!
