I will be on a cruise, leaving out of New York and heading to St. John, NB Canada. July 4th will be a sea day.

Too bad cruise wasn't heading to St. John's (Newfoundland), It's Canada Day here today and I'm hosting at my summer residence until Mon. Jul. 4, 22 international students from Ghana, Nigeria, Tanzania, India, Antigua, Brazil, Tawain, Australia and other countries, tho ironically none from the US, all attending Memorial University of NL) . BBQ'd Angus beef burgers (veggie burgers for the 1/2 dozen vegetarians) tonite followed by fireworks. Now readying lite breakfast - a 4 AM rise to go to WB Point and be the first in North America to see sun rise on the continent. That will be followed by a swim at a 'to die for' natural swimming 'hole' complete with 30ft falls, then a more substantial meal. Wkend will include Hiking, conoeing, kayaking, swimmimg, coastline exploring, whale watching (humpbacks and minke) and finish on Sunday with a lobster boil (best lobster in the world, 2 to 3 pounders delivered by a local fisherman) - sorry 'Maineians', Nova Scotians, and 'Spudislanders' but u really have nothing to compare.
3 tents outside, and my 5 bedrm Victorian style home accommodates my young guests - a 26 yr old (who only looks 16) beautiful young genius (doing his PHD in analytical chemistry) shares my double bed. Shocked would the other students be if they intuited the intimacy he and I share, but having no knowledge of my status as a gay man, and absolutely no awareness of the existance of
Broke Straight Boys, they would be even more shocked if someone brought to their attention this little blog responding to "What are u doing this July 4th?"
Approaching age 62, I just find such exquisite delight in all these young people,l- even negating the unexpected sexual perk.
Cheers to all, and of course, echoing vicekid "Live Long and Prosper".
