All Arckangel is doing is speaking his mind, which he is entitled to do. He has been criticised for flying the bareback banner but other members on here are doing the exact opposite. I have publicly stated that I prefer to see non bareback on this site but if the films have been made, then I will continue to see them.

If members really want to protest to Mark et al, then they should all stand up and leave the site and see if Broke Straight Boys withdraw the bb scenes. My take on it is that it wont bother them one iota, as I suspect many of the 3000+ members that have been tuned in recently are here for the bareback.

"Porkies" is an English idiom meaning "lies". But with a gay porn site named "Broke Straight Boys", it admittedly goes with the territory...

I don't think BlueMedia management played their roll-out of bareback very intelligently : starting up with their fan-favorite performers was a sure fire way to get the forumites up in arms. And create much hand-wringing from anti- ("my poor baby", "BB money is evil") and pro-bareback posters ("why do forumites constantly remind us that the models are putting their health at risk for my enjoyment and ruin my fantasy?").

Maybe starting the trend using newbies for whom little emotional attachment existed previously would have eased the transition before having the big guns reappear in new condom-less updates. Kind of like what CF did with their bi-scenes and "just the tip" updates before going full bareback on subscribers.

Few models in the Broke Straight Boys stable "do" it for me and I originally joined the site because I was tired of the other leading gay porn sites going bareback in early 2012. Like Stimpy, I think that young gay men discover gay sexuality through internet porn and that "written warning messages" at the beginning of videos or write-ups achieve nothing but give a modicum of self-respectability to the producers.

I also think that most of younger gays do not have the financial means to subscribe for content and consume their gay porn through tube sites : hence the very little moral qualms this gives to the admittedly older porn producers (CF used to call them "thieving little shits" when giving public interviews on the subject in 2011). Sorry, Stimpy : they are businessmen first.

I really thought (hoped?) that Blake's recent update would be rated much lower, not because of Lucas' histrionics but because he seemed so beloved by the boards, but to no avail.

So now I could hope that that any word-of-mouth increase for Broke Straight Boys scenes because of bareback does not transform into additional revenues to BlueMedia because it mostly comes from a surge in tube sites visits (because let's face it, subscription cancelling seams to be very unlikely).

Or that the forum becomes so toxic with each bareback update that one of the site's selling points becomes endangered, forcing some business decisions to be reconsidered (an even unlikelier scenario I have to admit).


About my above stated schadenfreude : it's just the internet, so I don't think name-calling, trolling, flaming have any impact on one's virtual enjoyment (if a model or worker were to be berated "live" during an event because of bareback I would be forced to reconsider my position).

I agree with you on those points Jules. I have no doubt that if newer models had been the first to introduce BB to the site...and if members had been given more time to process the change...that it would not have provoked such visceral reactions as starting off the genre with top-favorite models in condomless scenes. That's not to say that there would not have been controversy and some drama. Surely there would have been. But things could have gone more smoothly than this.

Woulda, coulda, shoulda. We can't change what's already done. So we have little choice but to ride out this storm until we finally reach calmer waters once again. I very much look forward to that day.

I will be totally honest here, and everyone can scream at me all they want. Since that picture went up last night, my head hurts, and I have even had a tear or two........Not because Jason and Paul did a bare back scene, But because I know that members are going to once again tear each other, and Paul and Jason, apart. I'm sick of it! I do not want to see another attack on this site.

I totally agree with you MsK. For my part I am not going to get sucked into replaying all of this in the next scene. That's not to say that I won't comment at all. But I will for instance do whatever I can to keep the review thread on topic and I encourage others to do the same. Many of us have already stated and staked out our personal positions on BB. The record will show this. I hope that we can avoid the temptation to jump back into the quagmire all over again. Or at the very least...not to the extent that we have done here already with Blake.

TG If there is a hell for porn producers I'm sure David will have lots of company. lol How many times did he use the line "Well, we were going to put you with a girl today but, she didn't show up." My favorite line was "Oh, don't worry no one will see this. It's just for my personal collection." I am not sure I believe any of it since before they actually shoot a scene they must fill out all of the paperwork and sign agreements and probably negotiate the real payment for what they expect to see. He did do a good job of making it realistic. Like when he and Diesal were "taking pics" outside and they picked up a skater boy, took him back to the office and shot a video. I have trouble believing that was all spontaneous but I don't really care because it worked and it was hot. How many of us see a hot skater boy and want to do the same thing?

However, I have resigned myself to the fact that there are some people here that want to be very vocal about their dislike of the new bareback reality here at Broke Straight Boys I should quickly point out that I’m neither for or against – I would find the scenes hot either way, but I have read the comments both for and against and all the new posts aren’t going to sway me one way or the other at this point.

It would be easier to read the forum without all the negativity, but I guess for those of us that are tired of the back and forth that we’re just going to have to learn to walk this new minefield. At this point any complaining from us about the ongoing pro/con debate are just prolonging everything – so I hope this is my first and last post on the topic. Even if I totally agree with you LM.

Your current avatar reminded me of the scenic grounds around the Castle and just how lovely the general area was. I know for someone that lives in the area you probably see it differently, but just wanted to share how you had brought back a good memory for me.

The garden is hard work now that my dad passed away a few years ago. I've been helping mum tend to it when I go home on weekends. The tree you see with they bright leaves is of the Acer family, but last year it decided enough was enough and the leaves were ordinary green.

Are we to expect BB once a week or every other scene? Pretty soon there won't be anyone left to wear condoms.
