I believe everyone has a right to their opinion on everything. That being said, I think KRU's comments on a past US President regardless of his faults is down right disrespectful. I haven't always agreed with some of the past Presidents we have had, but out of respect for the Office of the President and our Country some things should be kept to yourself. KRU you should be ashamed of yourself!!!!

Sincerely disappointed and wish you would reconsider

While JFK was not perfect, and neither are we, he lifted our country out of the doldrums and created a new optimism that has not ever been regained by any Presidents since JFK. He secured the international respect that our nation deserves and he was not going to stand by passively as segregationists in the South continued to challenge the Federal Government for insisting that civil rights are to be obeyed!

People throughout the nation and internationally as well, mourned his untimely passing at the hands of a gunman that had no specific love for the USA. He knew at the time he left Washington on this trip that he had considerable opposition in Dallas, whereas in Fort Worth, he and Jackie were greeted warmly with thousands of onlookers at the FW Airport. As a veteran of WWII, he was not afraid to face adversity and was in the habit by then to insist on greeting supporters personally, with less protection the Secret Service could offer him. He was then and still is a "Hero of the People" with unmatched popularity even 50 years after his death.

Years later when Ronald Reagan narrowly escaped an assassination attempt, I never ever voted for him nor did I support his agenda that kept more blacks in poverty. Working in Public Schools at the time of Ronald Reagan attempt on his life, I was horrified to hear Cheering, Applause, and Laughter coming from minority students that I found to be most disturbing, if for no reason other than the respect due to the office should command from any citizen, regardless! While I disliked almost everything he stood for, I did not want him to come to any physical harm.

Ordinarily, I've always enjoyed the satirical views and posts from the bro's at KRU. This one is the exception for me. As you can see from my Avatar, I am proud to have served in my country's military. The president has always been "The Commander and Chief". This month has been one of historical significance as it is the month we celebrate the birthday of the United States Marine Corps, another day to honor our Veterans. The anniversary of the death by assassination of one of our former Commander and Chief, while I was but 3 years old.

While I can appreciate the views expressed, as just that, I cannot appreciate it, any more than I would appreciate reading about the infidelities or indiscretions of Martin Luther King Jr. on January 21st!
