First (and this will not surprise you): I am not altogether convinced by the patter which preceded the show. I had this friend in uni, who liked to pass himself off as being incredibly rich - but, the fact was, he lived in a resort-town, and just hung out with a lot of rich kids and their families (and was hired to scrub the decks of his friends' parents' boats), and passing himself off as rich, comforted him, in a strange way. (I wouldn't be surprised if TJ were in the same category.)

Second, Jon - the United States (and Canada, for that matter) is a country of immigrants. Jon, at uni and elsewhere, I've met PLENTY of super-rich Greek-Canadian guys. Of course, everyone is an individual, but the Greek guys I have known in school mostly had immigrant parents who came here in the 1950's, started small businesses of several kinds (often restaurants - it is very funny that ALL the best ITALIAN restaurants in my university town are owned by Greek-Canadians), and became millionaires, in the process.
