The new "Dallas"

Did anyone else get into the new Dallas series? I didn't at first, but after a few weeks
I was hooked. New ones don't come out until January, man I miss me some John Ross!!

I have the worst family in the world as far as allowing me time for tele. I am not allowed access to the big screen because the boys all think I have shitty taste in shows and don't want to be subjected. Honestly, I can't tell you how many hours of Top Gear or Mythbusters or the Simpson's or Southpark... I've been subjected to over the years. I have to watch anything I want to see on my laptop. Limits my opportunities. lol

Yes, I did. Didn't miss an episode just as I never missed one of the original.

This new Dallas succeeded because instead of trying to re-write history with new people they brought back some of the older people and did a 20 years later iteration. I loved it and can't wait for January.

And I'm glad Victoria Principal wouldn't come back. That's the one character I least liked in the original.

Me too stowe! GWR I think you can still see all the episodes on Comcast "on demand" for free. That is where I got caught up with all the episodes. Stowe quite honestly I thought the series would fizzle out after 3 or 4 weeks, but the story lines really got good. Man I still have a love/hate for JR and his son John Ross I have a huge crush on him!! The last episode of this year has now got me hooked again.

I don't know about Great Britain, but I remember being a kid, and going with my Dad to his weekly poker game. My brother and I were watching the show with my Dad's friends wife, who immediately called her friend in Tokyo to tell her that is was Mary Crosby's Kristin Shepherd character who shot JR. Funny the things we remember!

The original shows were indeed a massive hit and aired on the primary bbc channel. I'm not sure why the major channels have chosen not to show this series - maybe they didn't like the content.

Jon have you watched any of the new ones? If not I recommend it, just for the actors who play J.R and Bobby's son's is worth the watch.

I also watched the first season, and it's actually pretty good. Now if they could redo Knots Landing I'll be a happy camper lol
My parents are coming to visit me at the end of the month so my mother will probably want me to take her to Southfork (once again!) lol

I loved Knots landing. I remember there was 5 of us who would get together every Thursday I think? and watch it. I have seen the whole series a few times thanks to re-runs. The new show did mention Gary!

I had the biggest crush on the actor who played Mac.
