The Long Song

I love a kid who appreciates Neil Young hugs Jon

Well if you read my threads over the last few years you will see that it's mainly my now deceased father's influence. It's coming up to the anniversary of his death so you may see a few Neil songs appear this month.

The first time I saw Neil Young live was around 1980. Was just him, guitar and harmonica, in a 5,000 seat venue in Seattle. Was fucking amazing!!! I can remember it like it was yesterday.

This song has been around for many years and I'm still its still popular today, this song never made sense to me ever, "I will do anything for love, but I wont do that." Haha. What the hell does he mean? But that really isn't the point its just a good song, so enjoy it! :)

Interestingly enough, there is another talent show currently running in the UK - it's called The Voice. Anyway this woman from Newcastle turned up last night and said she actually song the female part to the quoted song but was not credited it because she was only a stand in. The lady who the part was credited to had fallen ill with a bad throat.

Yeah, we have the same show here in America, I just didn't think that other countries had it, too. That sad that she didnt get no credit at all even tho she was a stand in it still takes a lot of guts to perform in front of so many people.

Did you play all your records backwards?

Actually no, Robert. haha I did play Queen's albums backwards as well as the Beatles. Bohemian Rhapsody (by Queen) has a lot of satanic references. When you play the Beatles' song Revolution 9 backwards (which I did once with friends in my dorm room in college) it had a lot of weird satanic references. It ended with a guy saying, "Turn me on dead man. Turn me on dead man. Turn...". The hair on the back of my neck stood up when I listened to this stuff in college at 19 y/o.

For those who think that's all a bunch of urban legend that's not true...(especially in an age of College Dudes's where it's impossible to play it backwards)...trust me that it's true.

I also had to cheat a little to find this extended version that's over the usual 5 1/2 minutes. lol It's one of my favorite Canadian bands performing live in Canadia. (misspelled on purpose, lol)
