Damian!
It's so nice to see you posting again. While I have your ear for a moment, I just want to compliment you personally on your photo/video shoots of Johnny and Graham off the set. "Venus as a Boy" and Graham's photo shoot within his BTS vid in particular, were both especially good. Of course you do great work elsewhere too. Thank you!
On the subject of the BTS vids I wanted to make a few observations and suggestions. I'm not really fond of the current intro to the BTS vids. The intro is artsy and perhaps edgy and hip. However, the shots of barbed wire and dilapidated abandoned buildings just don't segue in my own mind in preparation to see a cool site with handsome and classy models. I fully admit that since I have started to join the age set of the middle-aged, that it could be a generational bias. I'm not sure how the intro would test with focus groups between the ages of 18-90. Surely there would be some different perceptions. lol Even so, I think that in preparation for what I hope will be an amazing infusion of new members with the launch of the tv show, that the intro might be tweaked a little bit first. Although given everything you've said above, maybe you already have. haha
I'm glad that Mark has said that you'll be getting away from doing two-parter BTS vids. Even though we knew there were going to be two parts here, this scene just didn't have enough substance to stand well on its own. For the record, I do very much enjoy the BTS vids overall. I know that they're not intended to be high budget, labor intensive productions. Up till now at least, they've been a low-budget means of adding some extra value and enjoyment to the membership experience. I have always enjoyed and still enjoy them in that context. I think we all mostly agree that the priorities of the site's money should go towards finding the best models and filming the best porn scenes possible. I also appreciate that for those who can't attend the events, that paying members can at least vicariously share some of those moments with their favorite models.
I have always appreciated the fact that even on days with no new releases, that the site offered something "new" to entertain me/us on those off days. I've even stayed up till midnight sometimes just to see a new BTS vid. This, in spite of the fact that I knew it would offer me no happy ending other than the smiles and comfort of seeing and getting to know a favorite model a little better before bedtime. haha
Since you say that you have a whole new template in mind with the BTS vids going forward, I hope you will fill in the viewers a little more of the set-up of the vids. Using this one for an example, it would have helped to know if the guys were done with all the events and were strolling around town before leaving. Or if they were in between a two day pride event, or were just arriving in the city before their first event. The more information you can give the viewers to set up the action, the more they will enjoy it. If the viewers really feel like they have a front-row seat, they'll relate to the models much more and appreciate the site all the more for giving them that experience. I actually think the low-budget, silent film technique is good for doing that. Typing out the message and displaying it in the vid works well enough. There's no need for a narrator to do voice-overs...unless you want to spend the money and time to do that for the sake of the tv show.
In closing Damian I want to compliment you on your writing skills. You write very well. You even know the difference between compliment/complement. A man after my own heart. haha
Take care man!
