I may be in the minority, but that's ok, there is room in my world for everyone's opinion. For years I have felt that to pressure a top to bottom is not my preference. I do think that "compelling" a true top to bottom has caused a few pretty nice performers to leave. If you want straight performers, I would doubt you are going to get a lot of chemistry and passion between two of them, or even one with a gay partner. I absolutely 1000000% agree and have been saying the same thing. Why, WHY do we INSIST that everyone MUST bottom? No one had a fit when Junior was ONLY a bottom (well, he did finally top once), so why do some people have a fit when certain models only top and don't want to bottom? I also agree that it would seem like we have lost good models over the years because of this. And I KNOW someone will come on and say "no one forces them to bottom" but in a way they are forced, both by the comments and attitudes on the forums and the fact that bottoms get paid more (or so I've heard around these parts -- believe Benjamin Dover actually said that in one of his bottoming scenes, if memory serves). I found your comments insightful and plausible. The one thing I have noticed through watching performers who've left after bottoming (and it's still not to say all) once they leave this site, they may appear in other videos on other sites and....bottoming as much as topping in most cases? I would guess that, if it is their desire to continue working in the gay for pay industry....it becomes inevitable they have bottoming scenes? It would be my guess that young men in that situation would be new to the gay for pay business and even more concerned than an experienced actor. If he were truly straight it may be that his vision of himself only included the most basic of gay activities and the thought of bottoming would be indeed traumatic enough to cause him to look for a way out. I'm not just guessing this, I have a friend who tried gay for pay and quit because he was being pressured to bottom which he could not bring himself to do at that time. Surely this is not the case with every actor, but I had rather keep one good one than to cause him to leave under similar circumstances. As we see, there is no shortage of bottoms to go around. This young man was extremely handsome and quite nicely hung at about 9" and I think would have ended up making a fine performer, he was just rushed along too fast and could not deal with the pressure. Another excellent post Leedwb. I was going to respond to Betu in a similar way, but you beat me to it. I agree with Betu that in order to be a "successful porn star", it probably is necessary to be versatile, but like you Leedwb, it is not the Broke Straight Boys models who go on to a career in porn that most nterest me, but rather the "regular" guys who just do this as a lark, or a way to make some extra cash and probably for all to explore a side of himself which may be repressed in the back of his head, and to get paid to be with a guy is a great excuse for himself to try it, without admitting to himself that he is gay or bi.

This is the only site that I've ever belonged to for more than a couple of months and the Broke Straight Boys guys are the one's I care about. I agree that if a model wants to be a successful porn star they need to be versatile, but again Broke Straight Boys is my only porn site and I prefer the guys who are not looking to make a career out of porn, earning as much as possible at as many sites that will pay them. From reading your posts over time including this one, I don't see that you have ever shied away from expressing your viewpoint nor are constrained from doing so. And I don't believe that just because some people post frequently about their views, that is not a constraint on others posting their views. No member is constrained from posting their views. If you are not hearing from others who might share a similar viewpoint as you, then the fault lies with them and not with others who share a different viewpoint and do post.
