Rough Trade??

Well.........finally some fucking. It was just ok for me. I like both of the guys well enough. I'm wondering how Broke Straight Boys is getting away with paying the new models so little. Have the new guys not looked at older shoots on the site? If not they should!
No offense to any of the new guys but they are pretty rough around the edges compared to what David used to bring to the table.
I just recently renewed my membership. I'm still not sure I'm gonna keep it.

I liked the basic premise of the shoot....but....I have noticed most of the models seemed like what we call in the business as rough trade. The boys David had on had an air of freshness when they first came on. Be they gay, bi, or straight, there was a wholesomeness about them when they first came on. Not so much with the new boys,

As far as pay....if you go back through some of the early shoots of David's, and check out the prices for at least six episodes that are similar, I think you'll find that David outspent the current crew by about 10 to 1....pretty amazing. Perhaps Broke Straight Boys v2 was more of a cost saving measure more than a change of production company. Perhaps greedy???? Who knows.

I do know that street trade comes (cums) at a much lower price than a healthy Midwestern boy....and it shows.

rough trade??????????

you know.......there is something about a bad boy that is very HOT.. I'm all for clean cut guys, or the boy next door look, but DAMN this "rough trade" can park their shoes under my bed anytime, :tongue_smilie: keep the good times cumin boys..

I've never taken any of the "pay" talk during the scenes seriously. This is a fantasy site, not a documentary site. I feel confident that all models who ever worked for David or "Matthew", signed a contract in advance stating their salary for their scenes.

But while the back stories of the models, and the pay may be staged, the best part is when they start having sex, and then the real guys come out. I think that the majority of new guys are hot, and I look forward to watching more and more, hot sex between them.

Mike makes a good point there about the money. We don't know how much they are really being paid for the scene. That's between the models and Blu. Even in porn modeling I'm sure that they will have to pay some taxes on their modeling fees. So more than than likely they are paid by check. It's unfair to accuse the new team of paying models less when we don't know for sure what the rates of pay are.

I thought this was a really good scene. We were prepared for just some Dildo action. And we got alot more than just that. I'm pleased... I also wanted to agree with those who think the lighting is much better than the old Broke Straight Boys It is. Also the audio is very good. That was an issue in the old Broke Straight Boys where many of us struggled to make out what the models were saying. As far as the camera work I don't have such a problem with it as others. But I do think that it improves a little more with each scene.

Loved this one with Zach and Rocco but yes Rocco need a haircut to show off that handsome face, and Zach is a natural and he is just so dam mellow he goes along with anything keep them two together.

I did like a lot of this episode. If Zack wasn't into guys before all of this, I think he was just fooling himself. LOL Roco has quite an impressive tool too. Amazing how he kept that thing hard. He was liking something...LOL:biggrin:

I am on board with you on this Richard. I thought these guys were working pretty cheap too. I do have to say that these guys do remind me more of the average guys I would find on most of the city streets in my city. Jobs in this community are few and far between at best. Many people around here are not able to find full time work. Most folks here have also had histories of being molested, abused, raised by single mothers with dead beat dads or vice versa, and or raised in foster care. Many folks here have a low self esteem and they have had to quit school just to help pay bills and support their families. I know families that still wash their clothes in the river to save money. Yikes. Combine that with the lack of employment opportunities and you have Broke Straight Boys ready to emerge everywhere around here. So, I am trying not to question the financial aspect too much for that reason.

I think the down turned economy has hit our rural communities the hardest. Employers don't want to pay the benefits and with minimum wage set so high they can barely afford to work people full time. Most folks around here have two or three part-time jobs.

I can relate to a lot of these young guys. I grew up as a street urchin from hell myself. LOL I guess I am still not far from that in my older age either. I have grown and matured a lot. But I am still endeared to those tight family values that keep me here for now. What can I say? You can take the boy out of the street but you cannot take the street out of the boy.

In a lot of ways I think there are some things I can grasp onto with the new format. So, I could see why they would also work a little cheaper. I don't think many would be greedy enough to hold up the money and say the corny lines, but I could be mistaken. (Also, if they get a guy from here with borderline personality disorder or bipolar look out. They will find a way to retaliate for being coerced by money to do some of those things just so they can save face in their own minds. LOL Oh, the insanity I have seen around her in my days. LOL) I believe that most of the college kids would come at a much higher price. I think a lot has to do with the life style that their accustomed to living. Most of our lower educated folks live a much more meager life style than folks that can afford college on their own or have it paid for. Then again I think there will always be those folks out there that will do anything for any amount of money. Who knows what is really possible?

I try not to ruin the shoots too much by employing too much logic. I figure if these guys are doing porn they have to fill out all kinds of employment paper work for file and sign a bunch of releases. So, I think regardless how much money they are getting paid they are at least expecting to have sex with a guy on camera at some point.

The biggest difference I see in the two so far is like you said the wholesomeness/freshness isn't quite there. I think that is part of bringing home the idea that these guys are straight. I think for many of the older members we kind of realize that a hard dick doesn't have much of a conscience anyway, LOL.

Jayman, I love this whole post so much, so excuse me if I zoom in to start with on just the beautiful reality expressed in the penultimate paragraph. We learned so much about how the Broke Straight Boys under David worked from his posts and his answers to our posts. There are obviously nuances in the way the new producers approach the bureaucracy but surely more similarities than differences.

As far as what the guys get paid, I know from talking to a European producer that the contract always stipulates from the beginning how much and what for. The brokies you see on the futon, if this is true in the case of Broke Straight Boys, have already agreed in writing to the various sex acts we see them gradually coming round to performing, the evolution of their attitudes so to speak, and also how much they're gonna get to do it all. Back-out and performance caveats are also part of it. Boys here get about €2000 to do a 3 or 4 day stint with a studio, or six to 8 scenes. Probably what the brokies get, just short of $2500-3000. The cash on the couch is just window dressing.

Slim, thank you for the use of a new word to enrich my vocabulary. Yes, that is standard contract practice. However, I don't think many of these guys have any have any real negotiating room for their contract unless they are doing and exclusive, but even then I think there is very little leverage. I believe on one level they know what they are doing. In that they know they have a contract. The rest is kind of learn as you go. So, I think there is a fair amount that is first time work on film too...

I was pleasantly surprised by this scene. I almost didn't download it, but I checked the pics. They're both cute (I guess I'm in the minority, but I LIKE Rocco's shaggy hair) and Zach certainly seemed... cooperative. I like the riding position; I get bored with too much doggie. I think poor Zach was sick with a cold though or something, the poor guy kept sniffling (if he's really broke he's too poor to be snorting anything).

I liked this scene, and found it generally very hot! The only major issue I have with the scene is below:

When Rocco stood up to take off his underwear, the camera did not show us his cock, it was focused on the waist up. It only gave us a glimpse of his cock, that appeared like it may have possibly already been semi hard right out of his underwear...but it was impossible to tell because the camera only showed the very upper portion of his crotch area and didn't allow us to see his dick. PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS! Please DO NOT hide guys' nudity, many of us love to see a guy get naked and to see if he's limp, semi hard, hard, etc.

Other than that, great scene! I didn't like the Dildo use, but I won't say anything more about that since it was followed by hot sex! I think the guys did a great job, and other than the bad camera work hiding Rocco's hot dick (still can't figure out if he was semi hard or not right out of his underwear), I was very impressed and love the scene.

Great job guys, please just be more careful with the camera angles...never hide that dick from us again lol!

I'd also like to mention that the lighting in these scenes is great, you have done a terrific job making sure the scenes are well lit and not dingy/dreary or dark looking so kudos to the lighting guys too.

All in all it was a solid scene, and a hot one! Now go back and re-shoot the part where Rocco stands up and takes off his underwear, so we can see that one again showing him from the top of his head to the bottom of his feet lol (just kidding).

Abe

My god Abe is there anything you won't complain about? I mean my goodness the minutia.

I had to chuckle at that because I learned the proper use of the word "penultimate" when I lived in Spain. It is used quite often in Spanish. They use the word frequently in newspapers, magazines and editorials in Spain. In English the word isn't used nearly as often. At least not in the States. Leave it to Slim to enrich our voacabulary, while refreshing our memories of seemingly long forgotten words. :001_smile:

I agree Tampa with the exception they showed Rocco from the waist up when he was getting naked, and I wanted to see if his cock was half hard (it looked like it might have been, but it was hidden mostly from view).

That is a huge pet peeve when cameramen do that, it almost seems like they are intentionally hiding the crotch area from view which in porn, should be an oxymoron.

But other than that, i like the lighting, audio, and the camera work probably just needs some tweeking.

"I think poor Zach was sick with a cold though or something, the poor guy kept sniffling"

Hi dcKevin,
As my sinuses are blocked most of the times I always happen to notice the sniffing when models give a blowjob.
Zack is not an exception at all. Many guys have trouble breathing through their nose. Always wondered why porn directors do not have a some nose spray available next to their condoms and lube. :crying:

Nose spray does wonders for my sex life!

Slim, MarkyMark, Rifle, you, and Richard Noggin have always been great at enhancing our vocabulary... It always gives me something to look for in any of the Forum posts. It either leave with a new word or a new perspective many days. Often times both. It is those special "a ha" learning moments in the middle of a thread like recent video opinion that makes the post so much more endearing.:thumbup1:
