Have just heard this terribly sad news. In his prime and his life extinguished by the tragedy that is drug addiction.

Sleep well Corey

Xx

Just in case, like me, you didn't know who he was.

Glee star Cory Monteith has been found dead in a hotel room in Canada, Vancouver Police have confirmed.
The 31-year-old’s body was discovered at Vancouver''s Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel just after noon on Saturday after he failed to check out.
Police believe he was alone when he died, and have ruled out foul play.
Doug LePard, the acting chief of Vancouver Police, said: "As was the case in countless homes, I watched Glee regularly with my daughters, and I know there will be shock and sadness in many households with the news of his tragic death.

Guys,

Thank you for this post. I have to say that this has been (for me) one of the worst weekends, ever. First, I found out that one of my favourite co-workers ever was recently diagnosed with cancer ~ and I have been frantically calling every doctor I know for second- and third- opinions, about how to deal with it, all night long. . . .

And then, early this morning, "MSN" advised me that my favourite TV star had died. (I didn't know Cory personally, but I have a friend who did know him, and gosh - this is all pretty sad. My friend says that Cory was the sweetest, kindest guy EVER, and. . . and. . . and. . . Well, there is really nothing more to say.)

Life just hurts, sometimes.

"A". :(

Thank you Shy for starting this thread. I thought that very few people in here would be upset by this news, as the show tends to appeal to a much younger audience. I have been a fan of the show for many years now. It was very sad news for me last night after already just having watched the verdict in the Zimmerman trial (which already had me sad and a little angry)...and then this. Corey still had so much to offer the world. It appears though that he still battled many demons.

I suppose we don't really know what goes on behind closed doors. Celebs are normal(ish) people and struggle with the same problems that the rest of us do.

Oh and this Zimmerman thing... We just heard about this for the first time in the UK today and don't really know what to make of it. The jury found him not guilty but the country seems to disagree. It's v confusing

Hope things get better for you soon Ambi xx

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend Ambi. I hope it works out well. Best wishes!

Lets learn from other's suffering

I find such happenings, just like Heath Ledger's passing, so very tragic to be so very talented and even so, that was not enough to get them past that critical moment in their life. It seems that Corey had been placed in rehab before for drug related problems. In both cases, their fans have this inability to realize that fame comes at terrific personal costs and total lack of personal privacy. I too wonder about some of our current and past models that have also suddenly been thrust into the limelight and the disparity existing between their public persona and personal lives gets the better of them.

Within our own Broke Straight Boys model family, this calls to mind the tragic event surrounding Mike Robbins death, and for sure we don't want our needs to place current models with fragile temperaments into a similar position. All our positive comments have an effect of their self-concept. They might not have the personal tools to deal with their new reality.

All I can say is that we all need to be evermindful that these are not MERELY "PAID PROFESSIONALS". WE NEED TO ALWAYS REMEMBER, THESE ARE "ONLY YOUNG ADULTS", SOME BARELY LEGAL DOING ACTS THAT CAN IGNITE AN UNEXPECTED REALIZATION IN THEIR OWN PSYCHE THAT THEY MAY OR MAY NOT BE ABLE TO DEAL WITH SUCCESSFULLY IN RESOLVING PERSONAL CONFLICTS! THUS RESULTING FROM THEIR BEING A MODEL FOR Broke Straight Boys, IT SEEMS THAT WE SHOULD ALWAYS WANT TO BE AVAILABLE TO ANYONE IN NEED OF SOME HELP, TO PROVIDE THEIR EXISTENCE WITH SUPPORT FOR THE MOMENT. HUMANS ARE VERY FRAGILE AND VULNERABLE BEINGS! COREY WAS 31 AT THE TIME OF HIS DEATH.

Sincerely,

Stimpy

Mike R is dead?! What happened?!

Sorry I'm a bit late to the forum

Read the respective thread that you have obviously gained from your revelation. A lot of members were upset about Mike R's passing away so we don't need reminding of it via a thread that has got nothing to do with it.
