Several years back I got tired of buying a DVD with a hot model on the cover only to find out it was total crap. Sometimes the model didn't even have sex which seemed like it should be illegal (or fraud at best). I then decided to join a site and download the videos now that there is software out there to create your own DVDs.
There are thousands of sites out there geared toward the gay market. I would imagine it is hard to make money as we are limited in numbers (unlike straight markets which is ten times the amount of people). I would then think most sites would do their best to make people want to come back and renew their membership. (I try to go to the good sites once every six months as they have enough new models and material to make it worth the one shot price.)
I have found many sites (mainly the European/Russian ones) which cheat by recycling the same stuff over and over again and call it new. Mike18 (and the dozens of counterparts in the series) is the worst offender. I would think Mike is now in his 40s as his stuff has been out there for a long time. The companies remove the stuff and bring it back calling it an 'update'. Some don't even bother to update at all. There are a few US companies which have not updated in a year. Still, if one wants the older stuff and have none than they are worth one month only.
I guess they realize there is a sizable amount of young gay males becoming old enough to join their sites so they think they don't have to bring in new stuff.
There are ways for us to combat this and that is to complain to the companies that process their orders. They do listen as I have gotten a few refunds in the past from rip-off sites. I really don't like to resort to that, but I feel some of these companies are only one person collecting the dough and living off our frustrations.
Perhaps this is a rant and not a review of the sites out there. Many are actually quite good and deliver the goods. But it is for the buyer to beware on the other sites.
Broke Straight Boys is one of those good sites that have the boy next door types we all love. We imagine we are younger and they are those hot neighbor boys we had crushes on. Some of the models here are really stunning in their looks.
Adam, Paul and Mick (the one with the bird tattoos) are a few I can watch all day long!
I also look at this in another way: No matter how bad the site, if I can get two DVDs worth of material I like it is a real deal. Most DVDs are $40 plus shipping so two DVDs with known models and scenes is more than worth it. It is nice to not have to skip scenes all the time to just get to the one scene you like.
I should state I remember the days long ago when VHS tapes were sold for $80 plus in the early 1980s. So I complain now, but then remember those old days when you spent a lot of money only to be disappointed in what you bought.
