Potential for a little addition at Chez Lovelumps

And no, I'm not knocked up!

We lost our little Macallan pup 18 months ago. She was a snuggly little thing, and I've missed having a lap dog. Porter is a wonderful companion, as is our cat Cosmo. I'm allergic to the cat, though, and as lovey dovey kissey as Porter is, he's just not a snuggler.

For the last year, I've been telling my family that I'd like a little dog, one that I can carry, likes going places and visiting, will snuggle with me while I read on the couch and is social. They've just teased me, but I guess they weren't against it completely....

Yesterday, while running errands, we happened upon a chihuahua rescue. They had 8 little dogs all being fostered since being rescued from area shelters. One caught my eye. A little one year old brindle Chiweenie. He was such a sweet guy that we made arrangements for him to come visit tomorrow morning to meet Porter and Cosmo and the boys to see if he'd be a good fit with our family. We've all spent the weekend researching, considering and filling out paperwork.

A chihuahua was never on my list of breeds to bring home, but I'm a sucker for black dogs, especially rescues!

Awwwwww, I hope it all works out for you. That is not my breed of choice either, but if you want one you can carry around, it fits the bill. Hopefully Porter and Cosmo will be, if not welcoming, at least tolerant.

I'm an animal lover too. My dog loves to cuddle up next to me on the couch or snuggle up next to me in the bed. She also has black fur, since you like black dogs. She likes to think of herself as a lap dog.



She forgets that she's a 70 pound lab. I do love that dog though.

Yes, my son is still cuddly, he hasn't even stopped hugging me in front of his friends yet........but kisses have acquired "cooties" for the last year.

That looks just like the dog we had to give up, she was such a sweetheart, I know she is adored at her new home.

I took mine in because previous owners did not have the patience to deal with a lab puppy or simply could not keep her. She was 11 months old when I brought her home and I was her 4th owner. She had abandonment issues and separation anxiety for a while along with the other issues that come with having a puppy, but we got through that. She goes everywhere with me. She's 5&1/2 years old now.

Shes a beauty! Porter wants to be a lap dog, he's always jumping into our laps, at least. He's a 50 pound Gordon setter spaniel mix. I've got a pic of him on my page.

Hi, Lovelumps, I hope it goes well with the new little doggie...it's a wonderful feeling to adopt an abandoned or abused animal and slowly watch them gain new trust and love. I'm probably biased because we share our home with 9 rescue bunnies, but I'm sure they understand you saved them and love you more because of it.

We got our new baby today. We named him Fritz! He's a doll so far. Porter is a little stressed, but as they get to know each other, I think they will be great friends! I'm very happy with how things are going so far! Puppy love is so great!

He is, however, putting a damper on my porn time.... He just won't stop exploring, Just when I get him settled on my lap, he gets distracted and hops off to go exploring!

Porter is so big and fast, he could have hurt Fritz, but he was slow. Let the little guy get away. That's my Porter

Alright, so right after you make sure he is house trained, he must be porn trained, But it sounds like everything important is working itself out. He is even pretty cute.....for a dog that weighs less than a cat.

He's a mutt, too, but yes. A Gordon setter/spaniel mix. He's a wonderful dog.

Ahh, so often dogs resemble their owners behaviour and looks... Forgive the animal, but he has a shopping list of sniffing out all stuff in his new house. A dog can smell the salt on your skin if you've been a day at the beach...

Do not make Porter or other family members, or us, jealous of attention.

If Fritz feels alone at night or... let us be your dog whisperer.
