Seriously? Just smell them. The old school way is to hold your thumb over the bottle top to keep the fumes in while using. Hold one nostril closed while sniffing from the bottle. There is one word of warning I would offer to a newbie. And that is not to inhale too deeply right at the beginning of trying them. Start slowly and work your way up to see how you react to them,.
