New program on tonight Monday 10-1 CBS PARTNERS About the relationship of a gay guy and a straight guy. Anyone hear about it?

Yes, I caught the pilot last week. I thought it was very funny. Liked the gay guy (and his partner). Of course, it's always a matter of taste. Story line is about two men, one gay, one straight, both are in a relationship, and they are partners in business.

I saw the pilot last week and I enjoyed it but not overwhelmingly so. I'll give it a few more weeks before deciding whether or not to stick with it. On the other hand, I am completely obsessed with The New Normal from Ryan Murphy (Glee) on NBC. It's loosely patterned on Murphy and his partner's lives and about wanting to have a baby by surrogate. Justin Bartha (The Hangover movies) plays the more subdued character and Andrew Rannells (Book of Mormon on Broadway) plays the Ryan Murphy character. NeNe Leakes (Real Housewives of Atlanta and recurring on Glee) also has a recurring role on Normal. Ellen Barkin plays the bigoted Nana. Comedy appeals to us each in our own way, not unlike porn. So check it out and see if it's your cup of tea.

Love the New Normal. I would recommend to my mom to watch it, but the language is unbecoming for the fine Christian lady that she is... (on the show Nana has used words like fudge-packers, etc.)

Partners: fast paced comedy; at worst frivalous and annoying

New Normal: deeper, more dramatic; at worst, a bit soap operay

I like them both in equal measure.

I didn't really like the portrayal of the lead gay character, even though he actor, Michael Urie, who plays him is gay. I thought it was a bit of a stereotype, although I did like the (straight) actor, Brandon Routh, who plays his boyfriend.
