An interesting book review was published in our local Pittsburgh Post Gazette today. Howie Gordon was apparently hot stuff in the porn industry during the 1970 -1980's and is now 65 living in the Berkely, Ca area. His book, "Hindsight: True Love and Mischief in the Golden Age of Porn" documents his conversion into , a he puts it - an onstage Lothario and porn star. As he was a graduate of one of the Pittsburgh high schools, the book review got somewhat high praise as a local kid done good in publishing a book, albeit somewhat risque. Thought forumites might be interested although as a sexy senior citizen(polite for dirty old man), I never heard of the guy nor have viewed any of his actions

I believe that depends on the individual. Jason Matthews is perhaps the oldest of the current models, yet he looks terrific, youthful in fantastic shape and very capable of producing totally hot porn.

We all know of the predictable guy that stayed too long at the party, but that is not to say that all of our "studly models" are washed up and ready to be sent to the glue factory, hoofs and all useless as yesterday's newspaper!

Obviously guys appearance varies greatly between their late teens and early twenties. During that time their head, which had been narrow in their past, has now suddenly begun to fill out and their "boyish look" is never to return again. As a High School Counselor, I was completely amazed especially in the boys when they returned to the high school some 3- to 5-years later and I hardly recognized them visually. I know that we get used to their looks as a model and any change his very disappointing as if they could have avoided it.

But, I guess what offends me is more in the context of our economy as the manufacturers use people up as so much raw material only to be thrown away as scrap. I hate living in a "throw-away society" and I refuse to consider our boys as so much worn out scrap metal! I just know that I have seen enough "Mature Porn Stars" elsewhere, that have kept their looks. I just resist looking as our former models as "deteriorated used cars". I think if they are willing and motivated to be in front of the camera, then at least we own them to be open to the suggestion that they can still be desirable and sexy at 40 or more.

They do not have to be "wet behind the ears" to still be attractive to me!!! I enjoy "diversity found in all ages", especially if it is attractive diversity!

Furthermore, just as pilots are forced to retire at 60, regardless of their health, I do not think there is some arbitrary age when they have to retire from Porn. Of course if their dick falls off, then I might reconsider???

I agree with you Stimpy that just as with people in our real lives, as well as models onscreen, there are still many who will be beautiful and sexually attractive long into midlife. If a few models from our past were to come back a few years later I think we could forgive a few less dimples on the face filled in with fuller cheeks. I think we could forgive a couple worry lines on the forehead that weren't there before. If they put on an additional 10-20 lbs they would certainly not all be automatic has-beens in the business. lol

I agree with Mikey that some of our favorite models from yesteryear probably did not age well enough to stay in the business. (Depending on all of the viewers' varied tastes of course.) There were even a small handful of models whose looks disintegrated before our very eyes in a short period of time. Usually though that was through drugs, alcohol, poor diet and nutrition or just some very hard living with too much stress. Bless them.

I also think though that many former models could still be relevant years after their debut. I wouldn't say that a 18-21 y/o model from 4-5 years ago is ready for glue factory. LOL Some, no doubt, have even improved.
