David Cameron is to toughen up controls on internet pornography to protect children. In future, anyone buying a new computer or signing up with a new internet service provider will be asked whether they have children when they log on for the first time.

Those answering ‘yes’ will automatically be taken through the process of installing anti-pornography filters and a series of questions about how stringent they want restrictions to be.

That will allow parents to impose timed access limits on lewd material, or prevent children viewing social networking sites such as Facebook during certain hours of the day.

Ministers will also demand that internet service providers impose ‘appropriate measures’ to ensure that those setting the parental controls are over 18.

And they will be told to prompt existing customers to install porn blocking technology.

The proposals, due to be announced by the Government later this month, go much further than a blueprint drawn up by Reg Bailey, the head of the Mothers’ Union, who was commissioned by the Government to suggest new curbs.

I give tech savvy kids about 30 minutes to crack their parents or their neighbors wireless security and access porn unrestricted.

Or just use the wireless access point of a cell phone to get around restrictions.

There is already great anti-porn filtering software availble. And good parents monitor their kids off- and online.

Instead censorship now gets introduced in the UK! Where will it stop?

There is much more harmful stuff on the Internet than just porn. The government could introduce a .kids top domain level, so you can limit your children to only visit .kids websites...

It's such a patronizing policy to have your citizens register at their Internet Service Provider if they want to watch porn! Now Dad wants to watch porn... and his kids should not... what will Daddy do?
