However rude he may have seemed in some of his postings, I think that Miami might have had a point there. This is the ranking of gay porn sites that was done back in May by porn blog Straight Up Gay Porn (see the whole top 40
there):
The Top 10 Most Visited Gay Porn Studios In The World:
1. Mendotcom—16,035
2. SeanCodydotcom—22,616
3. RandyBluedotcom—40,569
4. HelixStudiosdotnet—47,645
5. BelAmiOnlinedotcom—52,657
6. BrokeStraightBoysdotcom—56,756
7. CorbinFisherdotcom—68,145
8. MaverickMendotcom—71,863
9. CockyBoysdotcom—72,368
10. RagingStalliondotcom—88,813
The number behind the sites' name is the Alexa ranking, meaning for instance that Mendotcom is the 16,035th most visited site in the world.
So
Broke Straight Boys are doing pretty good for themselves, but they are not in the top 5. The
Broke Straight Boys 'look' might be popular on this forum but it does not reflect an absolute in gay porn consumers' tastes.[/QUOTE]

Hey, Pascal!!!
Very interesting post - and thank you for the data!
First, I just want to say: I was in no way criticizing Dr. M. for liking either "
Men.com", or "Cockyboys". That's a matter of his taste, and preference, and certainly, both those sites have plenty of cute models.
However, I was responding in terms of my aesthetic judgement, and preference - which may or may not correspond to anyone else's. The numbers are interesting, and obviously important to site owners for economic reasons, and obviously tell a story about public acceptance of the entertainment being provided: BUT - given a certain baseline of technical acceptability - I don't join or leave sites, because of their general popularity, or their production values.
(Though, of course, I notice their production values, and appreciate them, when they are good.) But I am 99.9 per cent a "model person" ~ for me, it's all about the talent; secondarily about how the talent is used; and the ethos of the site, and its production values, rank a distant third, for me.
Unlike dear Mike, from NYC, I must confess (since it is Sunday!) that I have been, for many years, an erotic-video "junkie". (I suppose this had to do with not having had a b/f, for so many years, and having no real personal outlet for my erotic dreams, and fantasies. Suffice it to say, I suppose, that I became a virtual erotic-video ENCYCLOPEDIA, in the 1990's ;-) But it was always a paradoxical preoccupation for me, because, at heart, I am a real romantic: and while I appreciate male beauty, generally, there are only a handful of models, over the decades, who have TRULY inspired me.
Regarding this list of the most popular sites, Pascal: I have already spoken about "
Men.com" and "Cockyboys". Apart from Tom Faulk, who still drives me nuts, even now that's he's big and beefy - I really don't like the model-selection on offer, at "
Men.com." Apart from Tom, I've never been interested enough in a model, there, to want to subscribe. The model-roster at "Cockyboys" is much better, I think, and could be a decent choice - but, as I mentioned in a previous post, it harbours Pierre Fitch, who was incredibly mean to a dear friend of mine, and therefore I wouldn't feel morally comfortable, supporting it. However, I am not aware of any "must-see" models, at Cockyboys, who would truly tempt or compel me to BREAK my vow, never to support Pierre! LOL!
As to the other sites on the list (and these are just my opinions ~ others will feel otherwise):
*
Raging Stallion and MaverickMen, I'd never heard of, before you mentioned them.
*
Sean Cody has a couple of fantastic models - and one REAL SUPERSTAR,
BRANDON. However, their playbook is so old and worn, it probably ought to be enshrined (in all of its yellowing glory) at the museum at Cooperstown. Plus, SC is very dedicated to all sorts of artificial and awkward positions, that would tax the sinews of a Romanian gymnast (upside-down, and
et cetera). Totally not into that. And there is always precisely ZERO connection, between the models.
*Randy Blue - OK, but not great. Signed up for it once, for a cute brunet. . . and then was totally pissed off to discover they didn't allow downloads of their movies. Two good models, tops. I'd never subscribe to them, again.
*Helix Studios - Very good production values, and usually fine artistic direction, but: the models (though always pretty) are usually just a little too "scarecrow-thin", for my taste. Plus, they are into the exposition of Byzantine plotlines, which the models are not capable enough actors, to carry off.
*
Bel Ami - Well, what can I say? I grew up on
Bel Ami, and the quality of their production is legendary. (And they have gotten better and better, over the years.) And, of course, the beauty of their models is peerless. The one legitimate criticism one can make, about
Bel Ami, is that it is not only super (like ULTRA) vanilla ~ the models are
so incredibly straight (for the most part): there is hardly ever even the HINT of an emotional, let alone erotic, connection, between them.
*Corbin Fisher - I have a great admiration and liking for CF, and was a member for quite some time. I was there because of
TRAVIS, who is probably my second-most esteemed model of all time, after
Jason Matthews. CF is a great site, with lots of great models, super production values, and good relations with models and members. However, I got spoiled by Travis (and a couple of other models, like Dru, who were pillars of CF's GOLDEN AGE): and, when Travis retired, I just wasn't interested, anymore.

So, why am I at
Broke Straight Boys, now?
The first seventeen reasons, for anyone who knows me, ought to be obvious ;-)
Jason Matthews, Jason Matthews, Jason Matthews, Jason Matthews, Jason Matthews, Jason Matthews, Jason Matthews, Jason Matthews, Jason Matthews, Jason Matthews, Jason Matthews, Jason Matthews, Jason Matthews, Jason Matthews, Jason Matthews, Jason Matthews. . . and finally. . .
Jason Matthews.
You all may have different tastes, or ideas, but I know what
I like. The first time I saw Jason, on
www.collegedudes.com (which was then, I think, not a BluMedia property): I fell completely under his spell. I think he is the greatest erotic-video model, and performer, of all time. The minute I saw him, I thought, "Yeah, I'll follow him,
wherever he goes." And so I was super-glad when
Broke Straight Boys hired him back for a second, and truly stellar, series of performances.
However, in addition to Jason, on BSB1 I also discovered DANNY, who was just FANTASTIC - I only mourn that, because he was willing to bottom, his amazing potential as a TOP was never fully realized. . . and Cousin Anthony, and Tank Shane, and a number of others. Then, BSB2 followed up with Mr.
Paul Canon, and
Adam Baer, and
Blake Bennet - while continuing to feature Jason in lots of scenes, as well. So, your "A" was happy as a clam ;-)
So, I would say, over the last couple of years, I think
Broke Straight Boys has hosted the BIGGEST NUMBER of the CUTEST MODELS on the Internet - while ALSO constantly upping their game in terms of technical and videographic excellence. I don't know whether this can or will be sustained into the future, but, if Mark and DC want a rave review from ME, they know whom they have to hire again, for an encore ;-)))
Of course, also. . .
Broke Straight Boys is the last remaining site on earth, that I know of, that sponsors a wonderful message-board, where it is possible to meet and get to know other members, and even some of the models, to some extent. Sometimes, of course, the message-board is a ZOO - and sometimes it is vexing, frustrating, or even DEPRESSING. But, for the most part (and in the long run) the
Broke Straight Boys message-board has been a great blessing, and a lot of fun, and a real joy, in terms of getting to know some very interesting, and very nice, people.
And those are the reasons, Pascal, that I am a member of
Broke Straight Boys, and not the other "top sites", listed in the "Alexa ranking".
"A" XOXOXOXOXOXOXO
