Have the models talk more by asking "how does it feel?", "what do you want to try next?", ""What do you think about being with another guy for your first time?" and "what do you want him to do to you?" etc. It'd make the videos better and more enjoyable as long as it's not overdone.

I think David used to chat with the models more than Clay does, especially in their first "solos." I think it would also be great to hear the models talk about what they are going to do; usually this is only alluded to on the videos. Okay!... I'm a voyeur and want to be that fly on the wall. Anyway avery123, I think you and I agree, more conversation along with the action!

I also agree with you Beth, and with Avery that the "banter" as David used to call it was an important part of the scenes to me. At the beginning of BSB2, Clay did a lot of talking with the models, and even used his friend and model, Matt to help us get to know the guys. But the talk was often about the model's being down on their luck, and many forumites objected to "taking advantage" of homeless, or "street fencers" and of course the "over the top" throwing money at the guys and making them say demeaning things, so as a result of that, I believe, a lot of conversation stopped.

But I am a voyeur too Beth, and while understanding that much is staged on Broke Straight Boys, I enjoy the quasi-documentary aspect to the site, so I would like to hear more talk with the models, about their previous sexual experiences, and also some post coital talk too, asking how it felt, if it was different from what they expected, etc.

I understand that we all have our own views on this too, and that some member's used to complain, and say that they fast forwarded through the talk, to get the guys naked and having sex, but I find that "knowing" the guys, to whatever extent is possible in these circumstances, actually enhances the sexual experience for me.

I think that any talking by the actors during a scene would depend on the chemistry between them and the nature of the scene as it flows. If the site were to mandate that actors talk during a scene no matter what, can you imagine the results? I mean poor Seth tried to talk to AJ and it was like talking to a rock. Can you imagine if AJ were mandated to talk - I think it would have been even more awkward. I think Clay could suggest a little more interaction between the actors such as suggested in earlier posts on this thread, Are you okay? Want to try doggie?, etc., but let the conversation flow organically from the actors and the scene.

And as for the interviews before scenes, including the first solos, they are just right now. I joined the site after two trial memberships and that was before bsb2. The one thing that held me back was the long talkfests in bsb1.
I know David was trying to establish the whole Broke Straight Boys thing, but those interviews would go anywhere from 3 to 6 minutes out of 20 or so. (I watched one of the old ones a few days ago and the talking went on for 8 minutes before the actors even started to disrobe.) I didn't pay to hear that and really don't care how the actors spend their money, details of their lives, etc. I pay to belong to the site to see hot sex. Clay has settled into to a nice interview pattern and hope that he continues with it.

So I agree with more talking if it flows naturally, but not longer pre-scene interviews.

As long as the "Benjamins" stay in their wallet...

Dear Mikeyank and Beth,

As long as we had conversations that gave us some real insight, not something scripted beforehand, about the boy's intimate recollection of their "trip to the rodeo" and back. I would really love to hear it from the horse's mouth. I fear realistically, just like AJ finding it hard to find the words of what was coming up next on the menu for the AJ and willing bottom. With minimal professional credits notched in their belt to date, I don't assume this would go quite as smoothly as interviews of contestants for "Dancing With The Stars", for instance.

Having some autobiographical information would certainly add to Broke Straight Boys members bonding with certain models. I would love hearing about their first experience with the following details:

  • masturbation and describe?

  • any circle-jerk history?

  • ever getting caught jacking off?

  • what is their favorite method jacking off?

  • when did they watch their first porn flick?

  • at what age was their first experinence having sex of any kind or fashion with someone?

  • when did they receive their first good blowjob or rimming or have anal sex and describe the circumstances? and so on.

Perhaps this could be filmed surrounded by paparazzi(18 years and up) as the routine Broke Straight Boys updates are turned into a "World Premiere" event requiring both the obligatory "Red Carpet and Black Bow Tie"(shirtless of course) event as they exit from their limo. That is something Broke Straight Boys could brag about, no doubt, as an "Industry First"!

What if any would your opinion be?

Sincerely,

Stimpy

would one prune be too few or would three be too many.
talk less. engage in chic chat. stand back and let them go at it. give direction.
if you pick up, all the people who favored down will question your taste.
for me less talking is good, but no talking is bad.
perhaps, somewhere in between the early approach and the more recent approach.
if you are confused, then remember that you read this and can move on. i, on the other hand, have to live with these thoughts in my head.

I think that most of the newbies are a little too overwhelmed to make decent interview material. A little conversation that might relax them, perhaps, but intimate questions about their past sex life... Now, asking some models that have had 2 or 3 scenes these questions might be interesting, but isn't that what the forum can do? Though Colin seems to be the only one who is interested in sharing his life. It also puts a greater burden on the director, he now has to be a competent interviewer. I really don't care what they are going to do with the money either. Getting a new car in one scene, only to have totaled it in the next? So, yes it would be nice to know more about the models, but realistically and logistically it could be a nightmare. Keep it simple.

In the "Behind the Scenes" there is a "Broke Straight Boys Interviews" option. I love to watch these. The guys are clothed and open up about the business and themselves. I have asked that Mark/Clay add to these with such things as Colin's guitar playing, etc. Give this a watch and see if this does it for you; Mike R. getting his makeup done is really insightfull. Also, who is the gorgeous guy in the bandana in this interview...get him in front of the camera, please!

I totally agree with what you are saying. I had sent David a email when he was still shooting to ask the models the same things your are suggesting. He had promised to try and ask some of those things but never did. Hopefully someone at Broke Straight Boys can get a message to him.

It would be cool to hear the models talk about how they learned about jacking off, sex etc. Also, if the had ever been caught. I think alot of us would like to hear about that stuff.

If any models read this, please let us know what you think.

My previous post was in response to this post.

I agree with Beth I really like the behind the scenes interviews and wished there were more of them. It does make sense to maybe do these after the models have done a few scenes. I think it would also be interesting to see an interview with a model after he's been on the site for a year and his thoughts and feelings about it.

Interesting thread, so kudos to the Original Poster.

David's interviews were too often monologues in which he would say--and then keep on saying--the worst possible thing. To listen to them was often excruciating! For example, "Yes, sure you're afraid it's going to hurt having something hard up your behind, but you know just don't think about what's happening, and it's not realy going to hurt at all, it's not like we're putting a foot of solid steel up your butt, oh well, maybe almost a foot of solid steel", then repeat times ten. Sometimes I witnessed his exercises in reverse psychology cringeing behind my hand. Remember being told not to think about a pink elephant? Apparently, David never had.

Predatory voyeur that I am--points for honest if points are subtracted for shady moral chacter--I enjoy hearing about the soap operas in the models' lives. Jail, break-ups, being thrown out of hostels: it just makes it all juicier in terms of my fantasies. What they will do with the money isn't ever very interesting, is it, especially with the new generation of more-bourgeois models. If no one tells me, I assume he's going to buy a truck with it; that seems the most common answer.

I'd enjoy hearing them answer questions that forced them to articulate an aspect of their sexual behaviour with other males. They seem pretty nimble at escaping such questions, but I'm still hopeful. "You seem really turned on. What about ______ was getting to you?" or even the more generic, "What do you think is the best part of [scene partner's name]'s body?" and the like.

TG - we will have to disagree over David I'm afraid. He was the Broke Straight Boys Daddy as far as I am concerned and yes, he did sometimes go on a bit but a lot of it was harmless banter and David had a great sense of humour. For example, and I keep referring to the Holden episode, jeez I've watched the Holden solo time and time again and the implications that David made regarding what Holden did in his spare time and also his family, would probably get him locked up these days. Davids interviews remind me of the original National Lampoons Animal House with John Belushi and John Vernon as Dean Wormer - absolute classic one liners. As far as I am concerned they are part of Broke Straight Boys history and I for one will keep on listening to him.

If you're out there David - I'm still your number 1 fan xx

Jon, I have to agree with you. Some of his quips and comments were often "cringe worthy", but I do like politically incorrect humor, and if you are David's #1 fan, can I apply for #2? :thumbup1:

It can be a very difficult thing to interview people. But, a good interviewer will know how to ask quick questions and get interesting responses (most of the time). I'd love to hear more about the thoughts of a model going into a scene where he is going to do somethig for the first time. How do they feel about doing things with another guy...their thoughts about the last time they were on Broke Straight Boys..just general 'curious' questions that give the viewer an insight into a model's feelings about doing what it is they are there for.

TangoGent I totally agree with you. I did like David, he had a certain style to make the models comfortable but then he'd say something completely wrong and we could see the look on the models face change. I was watching an older video and he got 2 guys to kiss for the first time at first it was tentative then wow it got to be very sexy then David starts talking and they stop. Sometimes he would say the worst thing at the worst time.

Sometimes I do wish Clay would talk more but most of the time he talks just enough and he has a better sense of when he should say something or be quiet. I really liked the way he filmed Colin's solo scene. Colin is hot and sexy but it looked like Colin would have blasted a load quite soon if Clay hadn't talked to him at just the right time. It was like Clay was letting him build up time after time then bringing him down. Too many times David brought them down before they could get half way there. Personally Clay has a sexy voice compared to David, David's voice could take my hard on away especially when he was inappropriate.

I also like how some of the new videos start right out with action then have talking at the end. I hated it when the scene would end and the models would jump up and say "Gimmme MY Money" yeah that was a thrill. I'm glad they stopped talking about the money because frankly I never believed they paid as much as what they said, I'm sure that was all figured out ahead of time and in a contract.

If you spend 3 or 4 minutes before, interviewing, then spend another 3 or 4 minutes, "post coitus", as someone suggested, you have now wasted anywhere form 6 to 8 minutes of an already short enough shoot!

Now, I don't know about the rest of you, but I came onto this site to see straight boys have gay sex! And I may be mistaken, but I thought the original idea of this thread was to ask for more banter between the boys having sex, not between the boys and the director. ANd yes, I do enjoy more banter between the models.

I really don't want to see more talk between CLay and the models, not here, not now. We already have the perfect vehicle for this, it is called, "Behind the Scenes". I think maybe that should be utilized more. But, for goodness sakes, don't shorten the action with more dialogue!

Sometimes I write too much and I'm not clear. I like it when the video starts with some action then there's a little talking at the end instead of the models just running off or asking to get paid. They've done a few videos like that already and I really liked that idea, I think the talking at the end was only a minute or two.

I'm just throwing my 2 cents in here lol. I think most of the guys are having a hard enough time just filming, it takes a while for them to get comfortable. Once they get use to it all you'll notice them doing a little more talking. I'm sure everyone has notice how much talking I do now when I film, I wasn't like that when I started. But I think we could use some more behind the scenes, I think that may give people more of a way to get to know the modles. Like I said just my 2 cents lol.

I think adding some interview time at the end could be more comfortable for the models. This assumes they are given towels to wipe off or clean their hands. lol But I think most models would be more comfortable talking after the pressure is off of them to perform. For me it's important to keep the reality aspect of the site going. That way the models come across as being more 3 dimensional real people.
