Member's Favorites

I was looking at the home page and checked out the six scenes featured as "Member's Favorites" and then I checked the rating of each and see that it is somewhat similar to the "Episodes - Arranged Highest Rated", but not in the same order and of the six "member's favorites", two of them are not on the first page of the fifteen "highest rated" scenes.

This is the order that the six "Member's Favorites" are presented on our home page, with the current rating next to it and it's ranking among the top fifteen scenes.

Jake & Marcus 4.65 (Not Rated in Top 15)
Ben & Sky 4.63 (Not Rated in Top 15)
Jos Alvarez & Sky 4.78 (Rated #1)
Sky & Richie 4.77 (Rated #2)
Jake & Xavier 4.73 (Rated #8)
Jake & Ricky 4.74 (Rated #6)

A few observations:

First I'm thrilled to see MY JAKE in three of the top six scenes. And to see that Sky is also in three of them coincides with Jake & Sky currently being tied for the #1 position of highest rated models.

I wonder if the Member's Favorites is an exact order or just a random selection, but if it is the exact order, perhaps that confirms my theory that the number of hits on scenes is more important than the voted ratings, as someone who wants to "down vote" a model can do it with the click of his mouse, but actually watching a scene is probably a truer evaluation of the popularity of the models.

And my final observation is that I have a lot of time on my hands to look all of this up. lol

These are all great questions that you ask Jay, and I have no answers. Only management can answer those questions, and they may very well not want to answer them for as Mark has said on this forum that the competition reads it too, and as when I was a kid and there were two great department stores in New York City, the saying was, "Would Macys tell Gimbels?"

I don't think it is necessary for Mark or Sha or Bryce to answer all of our questions. To me this forum is for us the fans to evaluate and to guess and to bitch on occasion as well. But if any of the above folks does want to comment, this yenta would love to get all the inside dish! lol

My guess is any members vote counts but it takes a lot of people to move the numbers on an older scene. When a scene comes out if you are an early viewer you can change your vote and move the ratings but if you try it on an older scene with many votes already being recorded it rarely even moves the numbers.

You have to remember that most members are not forum members and not everyone actually rate scenes but they know how many people have viewed a scene. I’m pretty sure they also know how many people sign up after viewing a particular preview which may be the most important thing they look at.

But yes it would be nice to get a few of these questions answered.

Unfortunately the new schedule with less scenes than before has slowed down the new threads and topics. I encourage other members to add to this discussion or start new threads with topics which interest you. We have this forum available to us as part of our membership deals and I wish we would use it more.

It just depends on what strikes people's interest. And even us more frequent posters, we have lives and circumstances that take us away from the online world. The forum often has these ebbs and flows of participation. So I've learned to try not to get too discouraged when things slow down a little bit.
