Last Ten Scenes Ratings

I know the viewer ratings don't tell the whole story on scenes and models but it has been one poorly rated scene after another lately. These are the numbers as of 4:08 AM this morning February 23rd.

I echo what a poster mentioned recently, that I used to look anxiously anticipate to the release of new scenes, both to watch the scene and to see what was coming up next, but this February has been a very disappointing month for me, and apparently the ratings indicate that the over-all membership on the site who vote on scenes are not much happier. I really, really hope that this is just a "slump" and to echo a politician that I'm not happy with either, that we can soon see someone "Make Broke Straight Boys Great Again"!

I think your spot on Mikeyank.....There seems to be a plethora of non-plus scenes lately. In some cases the usually highly rated guys are paired with not so hot partners. Just like on any stage, a good actor needs a good partner to play off of. In looking at the up coming scenes the next two do have potential to give a good show, however, the third one, even with the hot Gage Owens, may be doomed from the start. Not sure what the answer is. I do believe that management is trying to bring hot scene's to the membership, but they are hamstrung with many of the guys they have to work with. Maybe we should all become talent scouts and find the right Broke Straight Boys and send them to the company, but we should try them out first to make sure they are up to snuff.

As most of you know, in January of this year I made a list of the highest rated scenes of each year of Broke Straight Boys's history. So far this year, the highest rated scene is the Ronan Kennedy-Gage Owens scene of January 6...currently rated #65 on page 5. The good new is, we have another ten months to improve.

The scenes come on here at the same time as Family Feud. I used to turn off the sound and watch the scene. Not this month.
Unless Tanner is in the scene. Just Love looking at him. He was stuck with Rowan in his last scene. Been watching more Family Feud.
At least it is fun...But February always been a lackluster month. As the ratings on Broke Straight Boys have proved...

Unfortunately. I agree with mike. To be honest this is some of the poorest scenes I've watched in a long time and a couple of them I didn't even watch. I've been a member for a long time and the models that we've gotten are very average and the scenes are to and the ratings are proof. However the next three scenes show some promise so fingers crossed now that Cage Kafig and Vadim Black are back.

One phrase I've used often this month has been "Another in a continuing line of boring scenes" or something along those lines. The numbers seem to bear that out.

I do also notice less comments on many of these scenes on the forum as well, so sometimes the silence can be as meaningful as well as the less than stellar ratings. I've been a big fan of Broke Straight Boys for a long time now and I'm hopeful for better models, better scenes and higher ratings in the near future!

I've noticed the same thing, mikey; and there have been times when I just didn't bother because the scene was just not worth the time and effort.

After I typed my first post on this thread, I was thinking about the forum and it dawned on me that either Mark is as dumb as a fox, or he stumbled his way on to a genius device - the forum. How many times have your written that you came for the porn, but stayed for the forum. When you told me that the first few times, I could never understand it. But now I find myself in the same boat - lol!! Oh, thank you, my captain. Here's how I see it: If there were no forum, you, johnny, and many others including myself would be gone because of our dissatisfaction with the models, the direction of the site, etc. But with the forum, we can commiserate with one another, vent our spleens, then feel better, hang on to the hope for a better day while enjoying the vast library of videos we enjoy more, and remain members. Again, I posit that Mark either thought of this devlishly ingenious move on his own, or he stumbled in to it. Either way, he keeps getting our dues, we're sullen but not mutinous, and we praise him for the forum and his "generosity" for providing it.

I concur 100% with every word you just said Stowe. As brilliant a businessman that Mark may be, I cannot imagine that he envisioned this scenario back in 2008 when he began the forum, but however it happened it works out for us to have a place to chat about the world of Broke Straight Boys and the world in general, and to interact with each other, while he maintains paying members, such as the three of us you mentioned, and I have a feeling that maybe a few others remain here primarily for this rather unique "social medium" as well. I would have to call it a "win win" situation!

When I joined this site I thought it was a discount shopping site for str8 guys that didn't have much money, then realized it was a porn site with lots of hot (gay or str8) guys in it, so decided to stay. (lol) Well, a lot of the guys aren't so hot any more (or str8) but I do find myself looking forward to new posts, lots of which are very entertaining. Then there is the occasional over top hot scene/boys (lets see, Brady comes to mind, along with 8-10 others) that also keeps me here. Just remember, it always gets darkest before the end of the storm. Waiting for the sunshine now.

I like your attitude SFPS and I'm really glad your enjoying the forum. I feel the same way about the majority of recent scenes but there is always hope and in the meantime we can have some fun "playing" right here!

I find myself holding back as of late.I find my post becoming more and more negative. I find people on the Forum taking issue with that.
I Loved the Forum but I don't feel I can say what I really feel anymore.So now if I don't like a scene or a model I don't say ANYTHING any more.
People have become so right chess even the Forum has lost some of its charm. If You can't say what You feel.
Better not say a thing.So just be a dummy and don't argue.I think that is why not many people are posting on the scenes.Nothing good to say.
If I would have said what I thought of Oliver and Flip I am sure I would have been beat up.So best not say anything. Just read the nice little posts.
And hope I can find something nice to say about the next scene..Otherwise just be a little mouse and don't say a thing. Just not having that much fun anymore.But that is just me.....

There is more "political correctness" on the forum than there used to be. This became an issue when models were posting more frequently on the forum, and it looked like "bullying" for us as grown adults to be criticizing these young men who put themselves out for us literally naked and for us to be critical of their looks or their sexual performances. However the flip side, (no pun intended lol), is that we are paying to be entertained, and we are encouraged to sing the praises of our favorites but not to be honest about those we do not find sexy or entertaining.

So I kind of straddle the fence and gladly gush over a favorite like a Ronan Kennedy or a Gage Owens or a Tanner but remain silent over the others who do little for me at all. That is why I started this thread as the ratings seem to speak louder than words, and there is no need to use adjectives to describe the models or scenes when the raw numbers state the obvious.

Hey, if you don't like something, say so. If people take offense, well, that's there issue. I'm only a little more open minded because I've trashed some scenes only to find that when I watched them a second time later on, it was better than I first thought it was. Now I try to watch a scene twice before I comment on it. Everybody's entitled to their opinion here, and it should stay that way. Different things turn people on or off. A guy can look hot as hell, but if I sense a snotty attitude it turns me off right away. Other members don't mind it at all. or maybe even enjoy it. But if I don't like a scene because I sense attitude, I'll say so and own it. With all the shit that's going on today, I'm just trying to not let others negative comments make me look at things more negatively. If I can find something in a scene that I liked, then I'm going to give credit where it's due. That's why I generally don't comment on what score I'm giving. I can only hope that if I say something good about a scene that someone else has been critical of, that does't mean that I'm negative about what they said. Hopefully I've never commented directly to another forumite and was critical of them. If I've done that, then I apologize. No one should feel that they can't post what they honestly feel.

I just did a quick check of the listing of highest rated scenes. There are fifteen scenes listed on each page, and I randomly checked some pages.

Page 10 finishes with Draven & Drake 4.56

Page 20 finishes with Ayden & Ronan Kennedy 4.44

Page 30 concludes with Johnny & Denver 4.35

The first thirty pages of fifteen scenes each equals 450 scenes, and out of that group the lowest rating is 4.35.

The most recently released scene of Flip & Oliver is now rated at 4.01.

That is my point.

By the way, if folks are enjoying the current scenes I don't begrudge you that and I am happy for you that you are getting pleasure out of them. I am only speaking for myself and the ratings back me up that this is not a stellar period in the history of Broke Straight Boys, but to be optimistic, I know that tomorrow is just a day away.
