Okay, what the hell just happened here? I mean, this was good. Really, really good. It had something that's been lacking lately at Broke Straight Boys..direction! I'm not saying that this is an epic or tells a great story, but was more than just fucking. First of all, it was long. Nearly 29 minutes when you took out the palaver at the beginning. That's pretty close to twice as long as their usual fare. But what they did with those 29 minutes is what made this better. It was two guys who spent the time with their hands and lips all over each other's bodies. No quickie shit here! They spent a lot of time kissing and holding on to each other. I'd say they did a pretty good job of sucking each other's cocks as well. Kudos to Jos Alvarez for jumping right in there and tossing Zach's salad! But once they started fucking, there was none of the over-the-top hystrionics or wild "porn talk". They did long, deliberate fucking with little whispers between themselves. And they never stopped kissing, even to the point of "Eskimo kissing" by rubbing their noses while they were spooning. That was just playfully fun.

The camera work was a lot better, too. Did anyone else notice that they avoided the windows about as much as they could? Then, about a minute later, it got bright again. I know you guys shoot a lot of scenes each day, but can the lighting change that much between scenes? If the ambient lighting was changing a lot, you can always draw the shades and keep the same level. It seemed like Jos Alvarez had a problem maintaining his erection from time to time. Hey, shit happens. Especially if you're new to performing with lights and people around you. And especially if those lights are blinking on and off. It didn't seem to slow him down any, and it didn't appear that they had to do a lot of fluff time (either that or they have improved editing as well) I'll bet it won't be a chronic problem like it was with Ashton. The one stupid thing I can think of was the ending. Who's idea was that? We had one of the longest scenes I remember at Broke Straight Boys, with some of the most passionate sex, then at the end it was like, "Okay kids, wave to Uncle Bob and Uncle Tim". Really???

Complaints aside, this is one for the records books as far as I'm concerned. Even if some didn't like it because it didn't have the raw fucking that is common to porn, it's that it was so different from that which I think made it stand out. The specific problem you are seeing wasn't lights changing.. they were the same and constant. It was the way the camera was measuring the light and trying to think for itself. Once we told the camera not to override our manual settings the scenes after became consistent in that regard.

In the very few instances when the lighting darkened a little bit, I had assumed that maybe the cameraman was blocking the natural light coming in from the windows behind him. lol Either way though it sounds like the video quality and crispness of the images will only improve.
