Jimmy gets Rimmed!

It's called "breach of contract".

I like Jimmy, but I do agree that it's a bad business decision to keep him on a site where his presence in scenes has caused so many people to cancel.

Mike, when you stated you feel only a small portion of people vote on the scenes, that's actually kind of ir-relevant in my opinion. Regardles of the number who vote, it is still a sampling of those who do kind of like the Gallup poll is although the Gallup poll is scientific whereas the voting on scenes is not. But at the end of the day, when you mix a bowl of chocolate chip cookie dough, you're going to get roughly the same number of chococolate chips per tablespoon measurement whether you scoop out a ice cream scoop sample, or a 5 gallon bucket sample. Whether 1% of the people who watch a scene vote on it, or 50%...it's still representative of the overall opinion as to how much the members liked or didn't like a particular scene.

Those of us who discuss scenes in the forum are kind of like the pundits or political analysts God help us, and those who watch and vote on the scenes are like voters who respond to pollers. It's a good snapshot as to what people think.

I really like Jimmy, I think very highly of him and I am saddened at how mean people are to him. I also respect and admire Jimmy for sticking it through, and continuing to work for Broke Straight Boys/Blu Media which cannot be easy for him. But at the end of the day, he is generally not liked by enough of the Broke Straight Boys members that his continued presence is simply not a good business decision for the site in my opinion. He simply has not resonated in a positive way with enough people that he has dragged down the ratings in the scenes he has been in, and annoyed a lot of members.

I assume that Jimmy's continued presence represents the fact that he is under some sort of a contract of exclusivity, but I wouldn't be surprised that if/when that contract expires, we will have seen the last of Jimmy. Of course I have absolutely no personal knowledge of that whatsoever, I'm only assuming.

But I do feel that if Broke Straight Boys feels they have to bring in someone like veteran gay porn star Rob Ryder who has been doing gay porn for years at other studios in order to take the conversation elsewhere, they are getting desperate.
Abe, While I disagree with some of your premises, as always I respect your point of view, for you present your arguments in a measured, non-confrontational tone. I enjoy reading divergent opinions on this forum, whether a member agrees or disagrees with me. I only wish that all member's would present their arguments as Abe does, and not present themselves as "know it alls" of how all members feel and think.

Specifically, I would ask whether Jimmy is under contract to the site or not, if they feel as you believe that they do that he is bad for business, wouldn't it be a wiser decision to pay him the balance of his contract, and not use him in scenes, as that would appear to be a prudent financial decision in the long run?

My belief is that they are aware of the vocal dissenters to him on the board, but they are also aware of how many fans he has, for he is truly the only current model that presents himself as a "believable" Broke Straight Boys However, I can also see his relationship with this site coming to an end in the near future, for the nature of the porn business is to bring in new fresh faces, and phase out "yesterday's stars". We "old timers" here on the site can all clearly remember the rise and fall of so many, like Dustin, CJ, Austin, Mike Robbins, Leon, and even Tyler, by the end of his run was not nearly as popular. And so, my opinion is that Jimmy had a strong run here, as the poster boy for Broke Straight Boys-2, but as George Harrison said, "All things must pass".

Happy New Year to you Abe, one of my all time favorite forumites, and I sincerely hope that the introduction of "newbie" "Broke Rob" and his toys will not permanently drive you away from this site and this forum. Your voice is an important one here on this forum.

Mike, to me it's more about recycling porn actors than it is about Rob Ryder personally. Even though I'm not a fan and don't like his arrogance and relentless self promoting, even more so I have always been annoyed at any site who tries to pawn off recycled gay models who have worked at many other studios and is bottoming on gay porn all over the internet as a "Broke Straight Boys". I have always applauded Broke Straight Boys for using largely unknown amateurs, who haven't already been seen on other gay porn sites doing hundreds of scenes and tried to pawn them off as somehow straight, and new at gay sex.

Rob's constant moaning and very loud wailing and screaming can be heard on a great many scenes on College Dudes, for those fans who purchase memberships there. But to bring him over to Broke Straight Boys is beyond comprehension, as College Dudes content is supposedly exclusive to College Dudes and Broke Straight Boys content is exclusive to Broke Straight Boys, you can't freely move from one to the other unless you pay for both.

So I see it as an easy solution to produce content on the cheap, with no regard to what the members may or may not want to see. I have always maintained that if you are a fan of Rob Ryder, you can see him on a regular basis on College Dudes by joining that site. They even provided two free College Dudes scenes showing him get fucked in both of them, he is constantly mugging in all the BTS footage, and promoting himself here in the forum as well. But now he is showing up in Broke Straight Boys content, which to me is pawning off recycled/well used/second hand talent to a discriminating member base which I simply do not support.

I would feel the same way if they started putting other well known gay porn stars who have been performing gay porn for years across other studios in Broke Straight Boys content as well, not just Rob Ryder.

As I stated previously, I feel it signals that Broke Straight Boys has jumped the shark, not unlike when cousin Oliver showed up on the Brady Bunch back in the early 70's. If Broke Straight Boys goes back to its roots, and re-introduces straight or at least believably straight amateurs who haven't been seen thousands of times before all over the net, on College Dudes, and on the free tube sites, I would view that as a very good thing.

We've gone way off topic on this thread. But you guys do have a good conversation going here. I happen to like Rob Ryder. I always have. It does worry me though that we are seeing so many recycled models from other sites. We can't control what they do to earn a living after they leave us here, however one does have to wonder if they have been doing work elsewhere before arriving here. What makes the site so unique is that has always strived to find new (straight) amateur talent.

If they are moving in a direction of only hiring bi or gay models or getting models with lots of porn experience from other sites and trying to recycle them as "new", "straight", "first timers"...then I find that troubling based on the premise of the site. If Baitbuddies already has aired scenes of Rex bottoming for instance then that probably means that he worked for them first. One wonders if they are hiring models like this because it's easier, cheaper or just more convenient overall. It saves them the bother of having to interview and find real straight amateur models.

Of course the whole internet business is cut-throat that way I'm sure. If a new Broke Straight Boys model films here first and then goes elsewhere, another site can still try to claim him first. If they rush his videos through production and get them aired before Broke Straight Boys does...then they will try to claim bragging rights to their membership for "their" new model. So the real truth in these cases may never be known by members of a given site.

My fear with the Jimmy experience is that mgmt will decide that the base of the site doesn't want straight guys. That we just want bi or gay guys who pretend to be straight. I don't feel personally that that's the case. We want straight guys. And for the secretly bi or gay guys we want them to be at least believably straight. IMHO

I have been expecting Rob to show up here eventually. He basically told us as much if you read between the lines of many of his comments. I was and am hoping for him to be here as only a treat to his fans here. I don't want to see him as a professional porn model on here as a regular like Jimmy. That just means that we get one less new, straight amateur model here doing scenes.

I don't like the fact that they are starting Rob out in a solo scene. I don't see the point. We already know what he looks like naked. So it's not like we have that to look forward to. Colin did it and it was okay...but not fireworks stellar. But then to make it more interesting Colin was an amateur. Rob....not at all.

Even when we had Porn Shane over here we didn't have him introduced as a newbie amateur model. He was definitely not given a solo scene. David introduced him to us with a handjob scene performed by David himself. Then he jumped right to the hardcore stuff on Broke Straight Boys If Rob's role here is to come in once in a while and show some of the newer, shyer gay for pay straight models what gay sex is all about...then that would be welcome and entertaining! I would not want to see College Dudes models (even Rob himself) over here on a regular basis. It wouldn't be Broke Straight Boys anymore.

That's kind of my point Tampa, if you're a fan of Rob then you can join College Dudes and see him plastered all over the content there, and he has had a long and successful gay porn career prior to College Dudes, I believe he was an exclusive Colt model. He provides private cam shows and has bragged that he is the most watched or most successful private cam model in the history of the site he does his shows on, and he can be watched for free on a number of tube sites. Basically, it boils down to the fact that he has been over exposed for some time. Even if I was a Rob Ryder fan, I would still be really annoyed at having to see him on here too simply because of his over exposure in the gay porn industry.

However, I'm done complaining about it because it is only a typical Monday solo (plus anal sex toys I presume) scene which I rarely watch anyway unless it's a newbie I've never seen before.

I do agree with you though Tampa, from his previous posts it did appear that he was all but begging and salivating to bottom for Jimmy, and the other Broke Straight Boys models so if he does more than a solo he will have gotten his wish. Much to the dis satisfaction of at least this Broke Straight Boys member lol
