I am Lovin all this rain!

Sarah can see ALL from her back yard. I hope that Romney picks as entertaining a running mate this year, as McCain did four years ago. :sneaky2:
Although very entertaining as she can be, she is a "douche bag". If I caught her in my backyard shoot first then asked ?s. hahaha No seriously I can't stand her or her family. Although I probably wouldnt kick Levi out of bed.

Talking of elections, Joe Walsh was on the BBC TV breakfast programme this morning. Although he was mainly promoting his upcoming single and LP, the question was asked whether or not he would be running for office yet again and why he ran for office before. I didn't catch his answer to whether or not he would be running this year and I doubt it, but he said previous campaigns he ran to make Americans aware that an election was ongoing. His impression was that a lot of Americans don't vote because either they cannot be bothered or don't care.

On a recent Neil Young interview that I quoted in another thread, Neil stated that he had met Obama a few years before he made it to the Oval office and that he had stated that this guy would probably make president. Neil didn't claim to be a prophet - in a typical Young fashion he said "it was a lucky guess". Brilliant.

I know a number of people that do not vote because they feel that their votes do not count anymore, and I can understand why they feel that way. I personally vote, but there have been a number of cases where a proposition was on the ballot and the people voted it down, but those in favor of the proposition decided to take the vote to court and challenge it. If we are going to do that, why bother voting? That is one reason why some do not vote. Some, as you said, just get caught up in their busy everyday life and do not want to go to the trouble of going down and voting. I personally do not feel it is a lot of trouble to vote, but that's me.

We just do mail-in ballots each time. I don't know if that is available in every state for every election, but it sure makes it easier!

Yes we call them postal votes over here and I use them. My thinking is that if you don't vote then you can't complain/criticise the next govt/administration. As Lovelumps states everyone now has the tools to vote via the mail-ins, so there can be no excuses.
