How best to start one's day?

As I’ve said before, I do go to the last page of all threads to “clear” my new posts out so as to always know when something new has been posted.

This is not a new observation but something that still makes me take notice. For a long time we never mentioned competing sites on the forum by name, just as David never mentions their name when interviewing a model regarding his past employment. It is much like those of us old enough may remember the Johnny Carson Show. When Johnny had a star of a program on ABC or CBS, he would refer to them as on “another network”. I believe Mark at one time would censor any mention of a competing site by name. But I guess we are in a “brave new world”. But as an “old school” guy, it still makes me cringe to see the names of competing sites mentioned on Mark’s forum. But I guess I must get over that old unwritten rule here.

P. S. There was a model on a competing site named Travis that both Tampa and forumite Parisnoyd loved and talked about, but they never mentioned the name of his site, which was taboo back then.

Or like the old saying, “Does Macy’s Tell Gimbels.”. Lol

For my first few years as a member, I followed that "rule" as well and recognize that Broke Straight Boys employees like David should continue with that rule. But I've changed my mind for members for two reasons: First, that candid exchange of views helps make Broke Straight Boys have the best forum of all that I have seen, and, second, it may be beneficial to Broke Straight Boys to have member opinions as to what it does really well and what might be considered to improve and what is being tried that is not working out that well. Other sites have either eliminated their Forums or censor them by taking 24 hours to review all comment and refuse to run them or delete anything disliked by the host site. As you note, Mark to his credit has come down on the open free market uncensored exchange of ideas. For my reasons stated above, I see that as a good thing for Broke Straight Boys and not a bad one.
