Hey there, I have not been as "active" as I like to be...trust me, it hurts me more than you. Now I know why Jason had his umbilical hernia surgery: fucking hurts with this thing. So, I am having surgery and since I am 3X the person Jason is (at least) my surgery will be more complicated and I will have a big scar afterwards. Anyway, I will be gone for a bit. You guys continue to "enjoy" the boys for me...they are a gift! Thanks, Beth

With the advances made in the medical field and the GREAT pain drugs available, surgery has now been made much easier to cope with. Had my share of back pain, and it feels even worse than a broken leg.

You can identify pain on a scale of 1 -10, where 1 is almost no pain and 10 is feeling like hell. There is great pain medication available which, if taken for a short period after the operation is not addictive or harmful. Before surgery discus a good pain relief medication plan Beth!

After the operation just tell the nurse in much pain you are on the 1-10 scale. No need to suffer pain unnecessary these days Beth.

And at times when you feel sorry for yourself that you can't walk... let me remind you that others will do the walking for you. : -)

If you can't avoid an operation, just lay down and try enjoy it!

This statement is so true, Beth.

My surgeon has a young resident surgeon from Brazil. After my 9th surgery, my doctor became ill and turned my case over to this beautiful young Brazilian. He had the dreamiest eyes I have ever seen. I really looked forward for this hunk of a doctor to make his rounds at my bedside (twice per day).
