So glad your shelf of books didn't kill you buddy!! Nothing wrong with sharing your love with Paul to us johnny.

I know that this thread is being used to discuss the devastation of the current terrible situation, but reading the comments here, especially from the late, great Frisco Johnny makes me both smile and sad. I still love you Johnny. :smiley-love021:

I wanted to add that I do not mean to diminish the tragedy currently in Turkey & Syria where close to 5,000 have been found dead and so many more unaccounted for. Today in the age of cell phone cameras, much like last year with the bombing of Ukraine, we actually see the destruction of houses that people live their lives in being destroyed and the people inside being killed. In the past, when we only read stories or saw some still photographs, the impact was not as immediate to those of us across the world. It is so scary such as when the condo near Miami Beach collapsed. We feel so safe and secure in our homes, but we never know when a fire, hurricane, earthquake or even a war can suddenly destroy our lives forever. Scary shit!

Actually in all reality , despite all the advanced technology we are more poorly equipped to survive natural disasters than earlier generations, once our modern protections fail.
