Hey,
I thought this would interest some of you: so here it is - the story of a talented gay danseur from Denmark, who lost his job in Canada, because he was curious about making gay erotic videos, and did so. And perhaps has ended his career in dance, because he engaged in this experiment - to explore his sexuality, and his love of art ~ albeit in a somewhat different form.
You know, it saddens me, that a Canadian ballet company would fire a dancer for this kind of exploration. But this kind of thing does happen to gay models in erotica, not only in ballet (of course) but in all walks of life. I am sure that many of you will have thoughts, comments, and feelings about what has happened to this guy. . . . as I do, also.
But I hope this story will also sensitize us to the risks that gay erotic-video models take, personally, to share what they do, with us. And I hope it will prompt all of us to treat all of our models with kindness, and reverence, for taking the risks to share what they do, with us.
I hope, ONE DAY, it will not be quite as it is, now - and that one day, people will see sexual expression as a good, beautiful, and wonderful thing - as they ought to do. And that there will be no stigma attached to exploring one's feelings, genuinely and artistically, with others.
But - till that day comes, it is incumbent upon us (I think) as a community, to care for and love our models (even the ones who are not our personal favourites - ESPECIALLY them!): with big hearts, open minds, and all the friendship and care we can give.
"A" XOXOXOXOXOXO
