During this government imposed solitary confinement I found myself binge watching the Broke Straight Boys television series and began to wonder what happened to some of the people in the series and thought I’d see if anyone knows what ever happened to:

Excellent questions, Frontier. Bryce to my knowledge is the same Bryce who is Sha's business partner and posts as Admin. on the forum from time to time. Shane is also known as Clay and last I heard he had his own porn sites which I believe are still active. I'd love to know where Sabrina and Damian Christopher are today, as well as some of the former models you mentioned, especially the guy who said, "mikeyank is my dawg". lol, Jimmy Johnson!!!!!

Great thread! Yes, what happened to Jimmy and his HIV stattus? In the last episode Mark said he felt betrayed by an employee then left us hanging. I've been wondering about Sabrina as well, I loved her witty banter and quick comebacks. I'm curious about Damien as well, are he and Johnny still together? His new look is breathtaking, he looks so much more handsome with hair but being a child of the 60s I've always had a thing for guys with long hair.

I saw Denver Grant on a cam site a couple years ago, he looked great but he was a total douche bag to everyone who tried to talk to him. I thought that was so unlike him because he seemed so personable on here. He seemed really bitter and angry. I'd see him on there from time to time but never went back into his room because he was such a dick the first time.

The Jimmy & his HIV status was in my opinion a bogus "red herring" used by the reality TV show. It never made any sense to me first that they boys were on a promotional road trip but that they were going to film an actual porn scene in the hotel room, rather than in the studio. Secondly Jimmy had not filmed any porn on the site for around four years. Yes, they brought him back to appear on the TV show as if he were a current model, but why would they film an actual scene for the site with him at that point? And the whole dramatic part of Sha getting a phone call from Sabrina just as the scene was about to be shot seemed very hokey and contrived to me. Call me a cynic but I did not buy any of it. It was all part of the reality TV show, in my humble opinion.

I think that Mark felt betrayed by Shane Heiser aka Clay for as we found out he had started his own porn company and was using Broke Straight Boys models that Mark had hired.

You have the model Damien Kyle mixed up with Damian Christopher, the one recently referred to as the "Hollywood" guy. He is the pretty boy black guy who did the still photography for Broke Straight Boys and later helped put the TV show together and was famously featured on the TV show calling out Damien Kyle for saying that he wasn't sexually attracted to "colored people". That was a whole controversy of it's own. Damien Kyle has had an on again and off again relationship with Paul Canon over the years which is apparently off at this time. I call Paul & Damien the "Liz and Dick" of porn. LOL

I am not going to comment on Sabrina on this forum as she is a relative of Mark through marriage and I don't feel it's appropriate to say anything about her on Mark's forum. But I was a big fan of her on the BTS episodes and on the TV series.

Finally I share your opinion about Denver Grand I met him in person at the Broke Straight Boys Pride in NYC back in 2012 along with my meeting Blake Bennet, Cole Gartner of College Dudes and Jason Matthews. Everyone was outgoing and friendly to me, except Denver seemed arrogant in my opinion.

Wow. I know a lot of shit about the early days of Broke Straight Boys If I had only been a better student in school and remembered more useful information. lol

They have filmed scenes in hotels before when they were on tour. I know Jimmy wasn't popular with some people but I had some lurid fantasies about him. I seem to remember when he was active on the site and went on tour he was broke the rules and spent the night with a couple of girls he picked up at the bar. I had the impression that he fooled around a lot so I wasn't surprised he tested positive. I also wasn't sure if it was official if he got retested and what the results were? I can agree that even reality TV shows will create drama but I wouldn't expect them to make up anything about something as serious as an HIV infection. After all he was still working in the industry and even a rumor could ruin a person's career. I was concerned about his wife and family.

Thanks Lenny. It is just stuff that I watched unfold day by day and year by year, so I remember it all clearly, It is possible that I didn't hear some things clearly or that time may have clouded some of my memories, but I think I remember the basic facts fairly well. And the only scenes that I remember ever being filmed in hotel rooms or outside of the studio go back to the original D&E production team. One hotel room scene was actually released in 2010 as a BTS with Leon & Scott, where David had taken the boys to Orlando to go to Disney World and they woke up in the hotel bed and David convinced them to do a scene.

I also recall a four part series in 2009 where David was supposedly away and Tyler Evans Danny, Austin, Nelson were in a room and Tyler had the camera and played the part of David to film porn. They boys decided if they put on a good show, David would pay them for the content when he returned.

And getting back to Jimmy and his STD test, keep in mind that they never said that Jimmy's tested positive for HIV. They said his test was "inconclusive" and they could have been talking about any sexually transmitted disease. Jimmy did have a long career at Men.com and so I am certain that he never tested positive for HIV, thank God. One more point Lenny. The mother of his boys who also was paid to appear on the TV show was not his wife and in fact they were no longer a couple when the TV show was filmed, so Jimmy had every right to mess around with any girl he wanted as he was not in a relationship with her. Again, I believe the Reality TV show manipulated the audience into believing a scenario that was not necessarily, the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. LOL

Jimmy Johnson had something minor and not HIV. I wouldn't feel comfortable revealing something that personal on the TV show.

That was my suspicion also at the time. If it had been a positive HIV test or even was somehow an inconclusive HIV test that needed to be repeated...people on the show would have been totally freaking out and losing their sh**. Especially Jimmy's poor girlfriend. I figured it was probably something along the lines of syphilis or all the usual pre-AIDS suspects we used to call venereal diseases. If it was completely a lab mistake and a false positive on a test, then they still would have been able to film in a scene or two. The evidence we had at the time on the show that something really was amiss with his STD tests was that they couldn't and didn't use him in any new scenes even much later closer to the end of the series.

Before they gave him his final paycheck and fired him, for some undisclosed stunt he pulled in the house that he got caught red-handed by the cameras on, Sha said on camera to Mark something along the lines of, "What is he still doing here at this point anyway?" I took that to mean that he had already been creating excessive dissension, drama and mischief in the house even by Jimmy standards. And the other factor I considered very likely at the time was that he wasn't medically cleared to safely have sex in any porn scenes anyway.

As far as Cage Kafig, Frontier we heard from him not too long ago. But it was for all the wrong reasons. His toddler age daughter was accidentally stepped on by a horse on their farm. She was very seriously injured and from what we were led to believe, it was definitely life threatening. She was in very bad shape. Many of us reached out to him and even donated to his GFM page for medical expenses. She did pull through. But it sounded like an injury that will not just heal up completely and let her lead a completely normal life. I'd love to be wrong on that.

Working for Broke Straight Boys seems like a dream come true if you want to do this kind of work. It seems like Mark and his team go way out of their way to make it a really positive experience. From what I see they really take care of the boys, putting them up for the week paying for transportation, gees the food bills alone must be huge. Look at where they're staying, they're not stuck in a $$5 a night fleabag motel on the edge of town.

I can't understand how some of the guys can have such a negative or destructive attitude. One bad apple can sour it for the whole bunch. I can't say that I liked Jimmy although I found him really exciting. He's the type of top I like being with, not the negative attitude just the style in which he topped. I find that really exciting but at the same time he often made me cringe because some of his partners looked like he was way too much for them. When he was with a guy who like being treated rough it was HOT. I wouldn't want to date Jimmy but damn I'd love to spend an afternoon in bed with him. lol

Ah today, I think people would react differently. Maybe then, which really isn’t that long ago, but today HIV is viewed differently. A person can be positive and undetectable and it is impossible to transmit the disease. There have been a lot of arguments on twitter about undetectable models in the industry and other models who refuse to work with them. I’ve always wondered what models truly thought about bareback sex on film, especially having sex with someone they’ve met for the first time. I completely trust research and doctors and medicine, but I don’t necessarily trust people. There has to be a great deal of trust in the person you’re being intimate with, for what ever reasons, whether it’s for personal satisfaction or work in the adult industry.

There are plenty of people (men and women alike) who would never turn down sex with a tough, roguish, bad-boy kind of guy who your mother would never approve of. Even if you don't necessarily want all the drama, infidelity and mistreatment you'd very likely be in for if you wanted to pursue a serious long term relationship with them. haha

When I wanted my own TV show I knew from the start I wanted Jimmy Johnson. He was the straight guy with a girlfriend and kids and I knew people wouldn't like him but he would be a lot of drama and he was. Most of the drama surrounding him wasn't even staged. When Sabrina and him got into it that was not staged as well and him not getting along with Cage Kafig. Just how the show played out and it was great for tv haha
