Hey,

Just tried to get some Fleetwood Mac tickets for their uk tour at the end of sept this year. Tickets sold out in 4 minutes now if you want them you have to buy them from an agency at 4 x times the original price. But it's surprising that people WILL buy them from £250 up to over £1000.

Seems that once again that it will only be the super rich that get to see the band and the true fans will not be able to afford to go. Is this the same situation in your country ?

Hey Jon

Yep pretty similar over here in Oz. I purchased PiNK tickets (they sold out in 2 mins for all of her shows in Sydney). Initial tickets cost me $450 each --> they are going for alot more now - especially on eBAY anywhere in excess of about $1000-$1200 per ticket. She has extended her stay and increased the number of concerts but it is a similar story every time the tickets go on sale.

Cheers

What's even worse is that it's not even the artists themselves who are making the outrageous sums of money. They're getting taken advantage of too. It's the scalpers and ticket brokers with the electronic knowhow to automatically purchase thousands of tickets in less than a few minutes who are getting rich.

Robert - What is the situation in Holland ? Some people who cannot get tickets in the uk at a reasonable price actually go across to the continent - it's cheaper

Back in the 90's I paid $20. for Fleetwood Mac tickets..... and if you really want to here a good one.... When I was a teenager I got to see Led Zepplin.... and only paid $4.50 ...... wow.. how times have changed.

Yo. I just threw down 120$ US on a pair of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds tix today.

I was cringing the whole time I was submitting payment.

Le Sigh.

My first concert tickets were less than $10 even into the 90s I could buy top seats at a concert for $40 or $50. When Cher performed her a few years ago the nose bleed seats were $450, no idea what orchestra seats cost. It's not only concerts that have become outrageous it's the traveling broadway shows too. I used to be able to buy matinee seats for a big show for around $20 now you can't even touch a nose bleed seat unless you're ready to pay $120 - $200. These are road shows, most of the time there isn't one recognizable name in the cast. I used to be able to make a night of it, dinner at a nice restaurant, the show then drinks after maybe even stay at a local hotel so we wouldn't have to drive home after.

Just a bit more about Fleetwood Mac tour. Mick Fleetwood was on the BBC radio last Sunday and he mentioned that the door is always open for Christine McVie to return. There was a hint that she may turn up to one of the concerts. Now I would pay big bucks for that.
