CD - Very little bareback

I noticed it too. I'd join if they had a better mix of both types of scenes. Maybe it's too expensive, or maybe too many of the tests don't come back negative. Maybe the membership is great enough that they don't feel they have to offer BB scenes to draw new customers.

I doubt you'll get an answer. Touchy subject.

Stripe - it's so touchy that not even the members who I know subscribe to College Dudes are venturing to comment. Get real everyone and tackle the issues.

This was taken from the "fucking College Dudes elephant in the room" thread I started a while ago. Jon had asked about College Dudes and bare backing, and this is what JohnnyBluMedia replied:

Sure...we ONLY shoot bareback when both models are tested before the shoot to assure nobody is at risk for anything...not all companies do this as it is an additional expense as well as time consuming. Even with the test it is still up to the models themselves how they would prefer to shoot...we are extremely careful when it comes to ANY bareback scene we produce. Most models during the Broke Straight Boys shoots stay at the house for the week and are tested beforehand...as the shoot scheduling goes as of now we don't shoot College Dudes with the same type of set up or schedule...rest assured we go through all this as an extra precaution to COMPLETELY assure the safety of each and every person we shoot. Perhaps in the future the way we schedule or set up College Dudes shoots will, in fact change but for now this is the way things are done...we never sacrifice safety, regardless of spending extra time or money, in order to shoot a bareback scene...it's the ethical and responsible thing to do...I would NEVER shoot a scene like that under ANY other condition...this is a very well organized and caring company - one if the many things I love about producing content for this particular company...what a great team of people from the owner down - it's refreshing to see so much care - hope you understand better now as I know you have been wondering. You can expect the models, scenes, production quality and overall site design to do nothing but continue to improve! College Dudes is on it's way up :) thanks,
Johnny Robins

Thanks Beth but that was some time back however, when you look at some of the latest College Dudes shoots, it is quite obvious that guys have been hanging around a while - otherwise the cost of flying them in and out would be astronomical. I would venture to state that the gay guys are more safety aware - despite all the statements on how efficient the Broke Straight Boys tests are, and probably choose not to bareback. However, I do note that Roman Daniels has done bb with Helix but it does take 2 models to agree.

I don't care if they do BB or not. It should be a personal choice. The only problem I personally have been having with College Dudes is lately the guys have been of the effeminate type, and no offense to that type of man. I would just like to see some of the more masculine Buddy Davis types thrown in.

I grew up in an era when safe sex was unheard of other than to use a condom and other means to keep a woman from getting pregnant. My daughter was born in 1979. Hers was a complicated delivery and had to have several blood transfusions. Aids was just starting to come into the picture at that time and in a panic anyone who had a blood transfusion was mandated to have an HIV screening test. We were contacted by the hospital and told my daughter, son, wife and I were to come in to be tested. Their test came back negative but mine was positive. I was suffering a very bad cold when they tested me. When they told me my test was positive I felt my world had come to an end. They tested me again two weeks later and sent the sample to the CDC for further examination and it finally came back negative. Apparently, the cold I had at the time caused the test to show positive. That was the longest month of my life.

As for raw scenes on Broke Straight Boys, College Dudes and other sites, my opinion is that it is up to the models along with the producers to make that final decision. I respect their decisions to take this stand. It might be a negative test today, but it could be a positive one the following week. I have lost many friends to this dreadful disease. I do not wish that on any of our models. Condoms do not bother me. That little rubber sleeve is what determines a matter of life or death.

Truthfully, it bothered me that Tyler and Brody did their scene raw. Another scene that really bothered me was when Johnny unload into Lucas.

I know this has been discussed allot in the past. I just now think it is a age thing. You had to be there. People under 30 don't have any idea what it was like.

To lose Everyone you Love. You can live now on pills. If that is how you want to live?
Why take a chance ? It is your life. I am not looking to debate. But I would never fuck without a condom. But I am just one who did really lose everyone. And miss them all still today.
It is like 30 years ago I wanted to get a rose tattoo on my ass. Now I am glad I didn't. Nothing uglier than a welted fallen rose.
Just saying. Just me. Only one opinion. Everyone has the freedom of there own choice.

This is not a bareback thread - we had all that discussion 2 years ago. It's just an enquiry on why College Dudes has very few bareback in comparison to Broke Straight Boys Simple as.
It's true Jon that we did have that discussion two years ago, but we constantly have new members in the mix, and johnny was not here then, and he also has the right to state his thoughts on this still most sensitive subject. And Jon, you were not around during "the plague" either, so it's hard for you to understand how the subject can still affect guys like johnny, and myself who witnessed it all happening first hand.

Like I said I missed it. When I see the subject come up . It is like yesterday to me. Can't keep my mouth shut. Sorry I went off topic.
No hard feelings ? I hope ? All around. Just something I will never be able to shake off.

We might do bb on College Dudes someday but it is mainly the expense of testing which runs over 200 per model that becomes an issue.

If you get all the tests done that you revealed back when bb started for $200 per each model then you are getting a great deal. The viral load AIDS test alone that you use costs at least twice that much generally.

What I take away from what you say here is that the profit margin isn't great enough on College Dudes to justify the expense of testing, at least at this point in time. And as for the paucity of bb scenes recently on Broke Straight Boys, my first reaction to myself was that you were trying to reduce your costs by not testing as much. That would explain why a scene with two models who have previously done bb and all of a sudden are together in a scene but do a condom scene - you save $400 by not testing.

Interesting comment Stowie/Mark. So what happened in 2013 which was when there was a bunch of bb shoots on College Dudes ? But saying that it is nice to see that if you cannot afford the expense, then BB is NOT being done. That is the important bit and thanks for your response Mark...

Don't patronise me Mike.. I know a few guys who are HIV + and have also spoken to older gays who have lost many of their friends through Aids.

I thank Mark for his honest answer as to why we are seeing less bb on Broke Straight Boys (as well as on College Dudes, although I do not belong or really care about that site, but it is all one company, so the information is all relevant to me).

Mark also told us recently that because of the "pirate" sites stealing his content, that a result is paying models less than he had before. Again these are finacial realities in 2014, and again I totally appreciate Mark's honesty with us on these realities of producing internet porn here and now.

It was not my intention to patronize you Jon, but as when I was growing up, listening to friend's fathers who fought in World War II tell their war stories, it was more meaningful hearing it from men who fought on the front line. And thank God that today, men are not dying from the plague as happened back in the sad days of the "gay plague", where no one knew where it was coming from, and the homophobes called it God's punishing the sinners. I was only trying to offer some perspective from someone who lived through that sad, sad time......................No offence intended.

I totally disagree with you Mike. How can you possibly compare the heroes of WWI and WWII and subsequent encounters such as Iraq and Afghanistan, with Aids - which in my opinion is not a plague and certainly not a punishment from God, if ever there is one.

This year marks 100 years since the start of WWI and even today I was listening to the prime minister of New Zealand praising the 100th anniversary of Anzak when they first sent ships across the vast distance to help fight the cause.
