Casey Anthony Case= O.J. & Rodney King Trials

she is out of jail, but she will never be free.
to save herself, she throw away home and family.
killed her child, distroyed her family and wasted a lot of people's time.
the voice/s she will be hearing, will come from all around her and not from inside her head.

Very true...

She'll be hearing alot of voices for the rest of her life. To her face...not inside her head.

can you imagine being one of 12 people who when ask, if they had formed an opinion about the case answered, no.
when ask, if they thought to state proved its case answered, no.
between coming in without opinion and without convicton were many hours and little proof.
meanwhile, in the real world. one media outlet, paid for right of access to her. that money paid for her high price mouthpiece.
it was find the missing child.
find the killer.
find a jury.
the next step was to be interview the convicted killer.
followed by find grounds for appeal.
for the jury this was about proving the facts in the case, for the media this was about the story.
the case ends, but the story goes on!
i feel sorry for the child and the jury.

While i agree that the death penalty is unacceptable, I do not agree that we cannot act now to ensure a better shot at justice for future "Caylees". Had there been in place a law requiring that Casey or another responsible adult relative report her missing daughter within 48 hours, at least the grandmother would have had access or reason to start an earlier search. I realize that , given her ability to lie, Casey clouded the whole issue of " missing/kidnapped/drowned", however, the most basic of doubts would have prompted action. And surely Casey did not start lying for the first time AFTER her daughter disappeared.

We are saddened and insulted by the baby's not having obtained justice in this trial. I'm at least relieved that the Florida judicial system didn't get to dip it's suntanned fingers into blood yet again, and send some miserable, criminal citizen to a government execution. Once the USA joins the rest of the civilized world in it's abhorrence of the death penalty we can talk about justice for future Caylees. For the moment it's too dangerous to flirt with the various ways it might be obtained.

My dearest Slim,

It's obvious that you are very passionate in your feelings on capital punishment. Or as you might better put it, the cold blooded murder of convicted felons. You are a far wiser man than I. I do respect your opinions of course, because I love you so much. However as far as our opinion on whether Casey Anthony should have been convicted of aggravated manslaughter or aggravated child abuse...I will have to respectfully disagree.

this was such a high profile case, that the state had to go for the highest charge.
aggravated manslaughter was a given. no need to present.
the jury got hung up on what cause the death and could not reach who cause the death.
in a case, no so high profile, like this the defendant enters a plea of guilty of aggravated manslaughter. the state would be spared a trial. the sentence would about 30 years. far less than the life of a child might be worth, but it is a price.
even if there had been a felony murder conviction, appeal would keep her alive until about the time her infant child would have gone off the college.
it is hard for me to deal with capital punishment (deep subject), when i don't understand what the state was trying to prove (this instant case). alot of money to prove she lied.
no more. i promise.

another1, was the prosecution cornered by the notoriety of the case and found themselves with no option but the capital charge, or blinded by what they mistook for an opportunity to achieve professional glory by going for the jugular?

Their behavior during the trial, especially at the culmination during summings up, was so transparently despicable that they'll have lost the sympathy of a juror or two for sure, despite the droning on and on from the court about skirting emotion and holding tight to the evidence.

If the state hadn't been slavering for hemoglobin, and had adjusted their aim to the quality of their ammunition, we all might be sitting back piously satisfied that that weird ex-mother had got her comeuppance, with a stiff sentence and years before a possible parole hearing.

There was a certain faux-righteous ring to the howls for blood I was hearing from the media, "Well, even if she had nothing to do with the death, just the fact that she got a tattoo and partied it up while cognizant of the baby's demise should be enough to execute her or keep her inside for life."

All my friends are tearing their hair that there wasn't a quantum shift in the jury room that would have allowed the jurors to re-invent the prosecution's case point by point and bring back a verdict that didn't exist. "I'm Ashton, your server this evening, hi everyone. We have a set menu tonight that consists of your choice of a big beautiful chunk of throbbing prime chateaubriand which has been shown the grill but not brought too close, or a fairly disgusting little sea foam mousse, so light you hardly know you're eating it and which will make you sick afterwards." Under those circumstances you can't very well say you'd just like a lovely bit of fresh salmon with boiled new potatoes dusted with freshly ground black pepper, coarse flakes of English sea salt, and fresh tarragon and mint leaves chopped on an oak block here at the table. The prosecution was dumb as shit and should be ashamed of themselves. All this guff about the jury's having the option to deliver guilty on a lesser charge is understandably attractive, I like salmon too, but in the end is just wishful thinking.

Nor do I know with metaphysical certainty that Casey killed Caylee anyway, and neither does anyone else.

you get more that a boys for winning a felony murder conviction than you do for winning a conviction for lying to the police.
