mike, one of the organization i am with hired a polling firm. the standard way of polling is to select a sample, ask questions and get results. another way of getting results is to post the questions on line and let the population self-select.
rather than choose one method, we had them use both methods. using our website the poll was posted on line. they also did the standard phone thing.
the question that remained through out the project what would be the difference between the ones sampled and the ones self-selected?
