I was very impressed with Tyler in this interview. He mad several astute observations two of which stood out to me:

1. When he stated that he realizes that the forum does not represent the totality of Broke Straight Boys membership - that is a fact that several forumites know and have stated many, many times; however, there are those who by what they say either directly or by implication believe that whatever the forumites want is how the site should be run, though these wants might be contradictory.

2. Then in explaining why he rarely posts on the forum anymore he said, "...(people) scream and yell - they don't know me and for someone to try to tell me that they know me and say this and that and this, it's frustrating..." I have often felt the same way; just because we watch these guys perform and say things on the forum, we do not know them. We know the porn personna they have created but we don't know them as the individual human beings which they are in every day life. This observation might very well be one of the most astute made by any one on the forum.

Note to Tyler:

1. The best advice is to be yourself and how you feel in the moment of the scene and your scene partner and what you might discuss about the scene beforehand. I have always maintained that the models who are natural tops like you, Ronan Kennedy, should fuck the guys in the scene like you fuck your own girls. (This applies also to those who might be better at bottoming but also do top scenes.) That way it will be as close to natural for you as it can be given that you are fucking a guy. You should be aggressive when the situation calls for that and you will know that the longer you do this work. But whenever you fuck, you should fuck like you do when you fuck your own girl (as you said in this BTS). That way you will feel more comfortable and we members will get a better scene because of that.


Keep up the good work Tyler and don't over think everything. Let as much of your real self into this porn personna you've created as you are comfortable with. You will be more comfortable and at ease and that will be reflected in your performances. And by the way, I like this haircut better than the longer hair, although I don't mind that either. You are one of the few people who can carry off a variety of hair styles and look handsome no matter what.

I will be frank and state that I this BTS did not impart much information at all. It was in general, Tyler's way of stating that he was pissed off with the forum and some of the comments posted on his "numerous threads" that actually he started. Well maybe he is right to not get involved as much and he would be better to respond on his own thread on the chat with the models part of the site - which incidentally I have bumped up.

Tyler is one of the best looking models on the site - no doubt about that. It is good that he is going to spend most of his energy in performing rather than asking for praise.

It is very rare that I can agree 100% with all Stowe1 says BUT this is the case here. Tyler be yourself have sex the same way you do with your girl. As I said and now you see, you can't take the forumites opinions as those of the majority of members because the majority don't post.
I want to add though you are much more mature in your thinking than you were when you started. I wish Broke Straight Boys picks guys when they get there rather than see you grow up. As for Tyler's BTS: thank you for sharing yourself with us. To be honest, I think it is just a "generational thing." My 22 year old tells me I bitch way too much and focus on the negative. I tell her I am trying to help her avoid some of "my mistakes." Maybe it's a good thing I was never a porn star...yet! just sayin'.

I agree on those two points, johnny. With his "sidekick" Kaden Alexander, his scenes turned into an almost "parody" of porn, and while Johnny Robins may be technically a fine director, getting the correct lighting and angles in the scenes, his "bedside manner", so to speak was a bit overbearing in my eyes, and I wondered why he didn't say "cut" when Tyler was overacting and over reacting during that period of his porn career. Isn't the director also somewhat responsible for the final outcome of his scenes?

Great honest interview. I agree totally with Mike, Joey, Stowe and Betu in what they stated. I've said much the same myself. As for the negative post you've done what I have state numerous times: Read them, ignore them and move on. Respond only to those that mean something. What a great attitude for someone as young as you.

My belief Betu is, (as I told you last Monday either in the first lunch shop, walking the pretty country streets of New Paltz, or in one of the bars or the Starbucks that we spent six hours chatting in), that some models are very "connected" to the forum and perhaps the comment pages with the scenes, (Tyler, Damien Kyle & PC, Zeno Kostas, Ian, Jason & Blake, to name a few), but I believe that to the majority of the guys who do scenes, they come to Denver to shoot the porn to make some quick cash, and then go back home to their lives, wives, girlfriends and don't think much about fan reaction to their porn. It is not part of their world. That's why I feel that the forum belongs to the fans and not the models, and while we should always be respectful, we can express out honest feelings here, whether it is read by 10% of the models or by all of them, (which I do not believe is the case at all).

But as Tyler has put himself into Broke Straight Boys with all his heart and soul, and he is making a career out of it (for this period in his young life) by performing in porn, doing BTS wrestling, going on the town with the crew on camera, representing the site at pride events, and by sitting down with Sha to express "where he's at" right now in regard to his career on Broke Straight Boys He does care, and I appreciate that as a fan. Each young man who appears in the scenes has his own reason for doing it and Tyler is one who is vested in the whole Broke Straight Boys experience and I thank him for giving us something more of himself than just his scenes.

You're preaching to the choir here Mikey. It shouldn't be all on the shoulders of a newer amateur model to calibrate his screen persona. The professionals on the set should have the best eye for what's working or not working in a scene. There's absolutely nothing wrong with calling a pause to the filming to say that something is not working and then trying something else...especially if it's turning into a parody/satire of gay porn.
