Hmmm... I watched it to see what all the fuss was about. We can only guess what circumstances or possible drama Jason and Sha were talking around with Jason saying he handled it "horribly" and went back to apologize. Maybe there was some real drama going on. Maybe not. Maybe with different editing we viewers might have been given a fuller and more accurate picture, even if to protect privacy it was still short of the whole story. But with the editing of the story being what it is and the narrative we are given to the story, in my eyes it paints a very sympathetic picture of Jason.
It looks like working out and training is Antonio's forte. Which is great for Antonio if he is really into that. The majority of Americans should try to exercise more if they have the good health to do so safely. That said, working out is not everybody's cup of tea. It's not like Jason has totally let himself go and is on the road to obesity. Maybe Jason really does have or has had issues with asthma. Just because some of the models might be up for going outside in the sun and heat and working on cardio and muscle strengthening, doesn't mean that all of them want to or should be obligated to. I don't know if Jason was peer-pressured into it, or if he was told to participate by his employer. Or if he initially agreed and then found that he was in over his head. For a scenario like this of making a very physically demanding video just for the entertainment of subscribers, I wouldn't take a model to task for wanting to tap out.
It did make me uncomfortable seeing models criticizing Jason. It appears to me though that he was ganged up on simply because he didn't feel up to participating. He either didn't have the physical stamina or the desire to continue. Or maybe both. Not everybody is willing to give it their all to the point of vomiting. And why should they if they don't want to? (Or if they worry that that it will leave them feeling like crap for the rest of the day.) Would it feel like it was worth it to them afterwards if they were sore or dizzy or tired or dragged out for the rest of the day, because it was for a great cause? It did give me some flashbacks of high schoolish behavior with taunts of being called a "quitter" or a vague unstated insinuation of "letting down the team."
To his credit Antonio repeatedly refused to criticize any of the participants, just saying that they all did well. I give Zach his props for showing us his athletic prowess. Well done! But I'm not going to say that this video proved that Zach (or Antonio or each of the other participating models) is a better person than Jason. Or that any particular one of them is a better model for the site than Jason.
To his credit Antonio repeatedly refused to criticize any of the participants, just saying that they all did well. I was impressed with Antonio. Not for initiating or inspiring this video which I really don't care for. But mostly for the fact that at the end of the video he was respectfully urging everyone out there to try to exercise more in their daily lives, at whatever tolerance they're starting with, in order to maintain and improve their health. That's a good altruistic message.
This will not go down as a favorite BTS vid for me for the simple reason that it taught us nothing new about any of the models as real people beyond what we already knew. While some BTS vids showcasing some lighthearted competition among the models have been entertaining to watch, the more successful BTS's also give us glimpses into the personalities and offscreen lives of the models. Sometimes it's nice just to watch them talking among themselves while they are off the porn set. Whether it's talking about something that might seem as silly as what breakfast cereal they like to eat, to where they see themselves in 10 years, talking about a dream job they want to pursue as an older adult, a passion for a particular hobby or a field of study in college, or their relationship with their family...speaking for myself, I'd rather get more of that.
