I was never a fan of Spencer's primarily because he was not my physical type, but I always defended him from those who accused him of being a homophobe in his early scenes here. It was my belief that he was directed to overdo the overly "straight" "shtick", by "acting" like he hated every aspect of touching, getting sucked, etc. etc. with a gay guy. He started here just around a year after Jimmy Johnson, and I believe that he was trying to jump on that train, over emphasizing how straight he was.
