We here in the Northern Hemisphere endured a long harsh winter. We could not wait till summer arrived. There were even parts of our country where spring passed them by. But, summer came, and now it's coming to an end. Whatever we did this past summer it is part of our remembered lives, be them good or be them bad. In the old American Indian tradition, Autumn was the period to sit back and reflect on one's life. So, the time of reflecting is soon upon us. Whatever happened yesterday is behind you. Look towards the light of the new Sun and let it guide you in the new tomorrow.

Good ethos Louis. I'll remember that when I'm starting work tomorrow and wishing i'm on a beach in the Caribbean whilst I'm looking out of my office window at the falling brown leaves and wishing i were a millionaire x

All 4 seasons have their own beauty. We fucking moan too much.

I totally agree! Love autumn. Can't wait for it to roll on. I'm bored with summer already x

The leaves on certain trees have turned already. It's great to walk through the woods in November and smell the dead wood and rotting leaves and see the squirrels forage for their last bit of food before hibernation.

Jon,

You have obviously never lived in northern Canada, with two straight months at -30 C ;-)

"A" XOXOXOXO LOL!

Shy,

I love autumn, too. Every year, at this time, I always send my e-mail correspondents Richard Strauss' "Four Last Songs" - which are supremely (and beautifully) autumnal. Here they are, sung by my favourite soprano, Montserrat Caballe.

The people who live there choose to live there. But at least it gets rid of all the bugs and diseases.

My favorite seasons in order of preference: Autumn, Winter, Spring, Summer.
